While the headphones will still work for listening to music, I do not believe the controls will work properly. The JBL J88a has controls for Android, model JBL J88i has controls for iPhone.

Will JBL J88a work with Windows computers?  I know that JBL J88i is Apple only.  I'd like to use JBL J88a with Skype on my Win 8 desktop.

I use one with my Android Cell Phone. It surely will at least handle  windows regards sound. Can't say about microphone which I'm not using.
