What type connection does this have? RCA Jack? 3.5mm? Bare Wire?

It has bare wire two studs with thumb nuts connection, very typical for speakers,.You will need to have standard copper wire to connect it to your amplifier

Do these have screw holes in the bottom for stands?

There are no screws at the bottom, but, there's a hole behing each for wall mounting.

can you buy 2 sets of two and hook them up so they work in a 5.1 surround sound system?

Yes you can do that without a problem, I suggest to buy the center channel of the same series to have the 5 speakers voice matched. They put it on sale often too.

Is it possible to hook up a pair of these Speakers to an 2012 iMac 21.5” ? The Speakers that are internal are Decent but they lack the Volume and Range of an external set like this.

The quick answer is no.  The speakers have standard +/- connectors on the back.  If you wanted to use these with a Mac (or any computer), you'd really want an external powered amp to drive them.  They are great compact speakers - very solid sound in a small package. (Physically they are well built. I use mine as part of a surround sound system)  Hope this helps!

will this work with an old Sansui 2000A solid state receiver ?

Yes. Will work with virtually any receiver or amplifier that has speaker connections, just be aware of your power output. I have 4 of these and a JBL Loft 20 center speaker and a Sony powered subwoofer on a Harman Kardon AVR144 receiver and they all sound great together. JBL is quality!
