Question 2

I could get these cameras to link up with my Andriod at all even using their app - I cannot get them to work so I will ask for a refund. Any suggestions?

I have this camera installed on Android, IOS and Windows. I think the software version is 2.5.  It took me awhile to understnd how some things work because they are a little different on each platform.  I do not use the cloud service because I did not buy it for that purpose.  I only use it for live monitoring.  You did not give any information about your specific environment so I cannot help with determining what is wrong but I can make a couple of suggestion.  If you have Windows 10, see if it will connect there.  Also, your router SSID must be visible or the camera will not connect.  There is no provision for you to type the SSID during the install.  I hope this helps a little bit.  The camera appears to be excellent for the price. I have multiple cameras from different manufacturers and this one has one of the best resolutions I've seen.

Does it include free cloud storage or subscription is the only option?

Cloud storage is $5 per month. You can add a SD card to have the camera record everything, but motion sensor event are stored on cloud only.

What is the name of the windows app?

The simple questions often have complicated answers. First, there isn't a PC app, so the description is very misleading. I bought the camera thinking it must be ONVIF compatible, but it doesn't seem to be.  The only way I've gotten it to work on a PC is by downloading an android emulator (Bluestack) and getting the Danale app off playstore (its not called the Danale app by the way, Its called HomeConnect). It sets up and runs just fine in Windows 10 this way, but that's kind of convoluted. There's no way on the app to see the IP address assigned or the device name, so I quit trying to see if I could hook it up to my surveillance network. Sometimes things just aren't worth the time and effort, so I'll calk it up to another misleading description of a useless smartphone gadget and not worth serious consideration.

I purchased this camera to allow me to havea camera for my desktop, Can I plug this directly into a USB port and have it work?

Don't see why it wouldn't work. The plug is a simple 5V/2A adapter. 
However, real-time isn't exactly real time. My experience has been more like 7-10 second delay and the app is only Android and iOs. So if you're looking to this as a webcam for the desktop, I wouldn't recommend it.
That said, the quality of the audio and video is excellent.

I purchased this camera hoping to save videos to the sd card. Is there a way of viewing the videos saved on the sd card from the app?

En+ Can I record cloud footage to my SD card?
Unfortunately, for most devices you cannot record cloud footage directly to your SD card. However, you can record part of the cloud video and download it to your device.

To do this you will need to follow these steps:

Click on the Cloud Video playback button underneath the camera you want to record the footage for,
Click the camcorder button underneath the video timeline to record,
Click the camcorder button again when you want to stop recording,
When the recording is complete it will be stored under “My Files/Local Files” under the main menu,
Select the video that you would like to save and click “Saving to Album”,
The video will now be available in your phone’s gallery.ter an answer to this question.

Can it be installed outdoors?

I put mine outside in a very protected area. It still works great, so far.  It's below 0 too.  Just make sure it stays absolutely dry. Maybe a clear plastic cover like those that go over thermostats and controls would work, as long as it has an opening for the power cord.

Does it work with Blue Iris software?

Never used it with Blue Iris but I do know about the software. My guess is no. BTW I just returned it after a week because it died.
