this unit will transfer music to cd?

This unit will transfer the music to a flash drive. You can then transfer the music to a CD, MP3 player, or a computer or ajy similar drive. I find this unit works quite well other than once in a while the remote is a little balky. Nothing major however.

If I plug speakers into this, will the music still play through the built-in speakers? I'm looking for a new turntable because the one I have does just that and I can't stand it. I'd rather just listen through separate speakers only.

If you plug external speakers into the audio output jacks of the turntable, the internal turntable speakers will not play. I don't have the unit here to test it, but I know that I have done it. You should be OK.

Can you use it or do you need to buy a cartridge for it?

Better question would be. Can you buy replacement needle cartridges for it?????
