Is this device wireless or does it always have to be plugged into the wall?

It has an internal battery. So to answer your question, no it does not have to be plugged in to work, but it will need to be plugged in periodically to charge the battery. I'm not sure how long the battery lasts, since my wife usually leaves it plugged in to the wall anyway since we have it near an outlet. Plus, it has a USB port that can be used to charge a phone or other USB device. Hope that helps.

No.  The plug/charger is only needed to charge the unit which can be used anywhere up to 10-hrs.  Remember the Bluetooth range is only up to 30'.  Wife loves hearing tunes over the internet from her smartphone.

Is this compatible with laptops?

Accepted Answer

YES.

If you laptop has bluetooth -- you can stream music to it. 
If you laptop does not have bluetooth -- you can send music to it using any audio cable  (male to male) the same size as the headphone jack on your PC or laptop.

I see it says with 10 hour battery,  but i look online everywhere else, and no other website references the batter.  Can you confirm it has a battery?

The problem you are seeing is that JLab has the exact same speaker without a battery. Also this battery powered version is a new egg exclusive for 2013.

Is this available in White?

Not sure if its available in white. I would think that being its "portability" feature you'd want it dark. Not only does it blend in better as a darker color but if it were moved around a lot (as mine is) it would get nasty hand prints and gross. I will say this even though it wasn't asked. I love this thing. USB charging port for charging. Aux input for no Bluetooth devices etc.. I have mine in the bathroom mostly and its sweet to just stroll in, and sync some loud music. Happy buying!
