Worked perfectly in my MSI GE72MVR 7RG Apache Pro9/10/2018 2:35:13 PM
Pros: Worked perfectly
Cons: None
Overall Review: My MSI notebook came with only one ram slot populated with a single 16Gb chip. I knew this when I bought it as it was my plan to upgrade to 32Gb by installing a second ram chip. The existing ram was a Kingston chip with timings identical to this chip. I've heard stories that sometimes a second dimm won't work if the timings do not align and even then, no promises. While this chip isn't completely identical in specs, it is actually a little bit better. What is important is that the timings are all compatible with my existing chip. I installed it and started the computer up, it took about 15 seconds for the bios to configure what was what, and then it booted up perfectly. I now have 32Gb of ram working in dual channel mode and the speed and timings are exactly right. I haven't attempted overclocking, and I won't bother either. Honestly, 2400Mhz is fine and any overclock won't give me an increase in performance worth the trouble of flashing a custom bios and everything else needed to overclock. I just want it to work. And it does work. It works marvelously.
