Pros: Small, inexpensive, and USB 3.0
Cons: The speed test I did, using Linux Mint, looked good, but, in actual usage it ran much slower than my older 16GB USB 2.0 drives.
Overall Review: I would not recommend this drive for any repeated usage. I was experimenting on different OS's and creating unique drive images from different drives. I thought this 8GB would create a smaller image which would take up less space in temporary storage and so I picked it over 16GB. I could image the 16GB drive far faster than this 8GB 3.0. I have no idea why?
Pros: It works like a flash drive should.
Cons: none
Overall Review: Yes, recommended.
Pros: the price is right as a low usage drives, i.e., for storage of data only (if you just want to keep files to store away as copies)
Cons:
I do not have any 2.0 USB flash drives to compare to this Kingston 8GB 3.0. If it is truly 3.0 standard, it is at its lowest end of the speed spectrum.
Transfer and write speeds are incredibly slow...like 2.0 speed(?): read: 32.11 MB/s and write: 9.59 MB/s
Not good for quick writing of large files if you are in a rush to get out of the office door
Overall Review: good price; good warranty (5years); good if you are incredibly patient with slow read/write speed
Pros: -Inexpensive
Cons: -Too Slow: Consistently getting USB 1.1 speeds on this thing using a USB 3.0 front port on my rig. If I plug a 5400RPM external HDD into the same port I get decent USB 3.0 speeds hovering around 150Mb/s, but this "super fast" flash drive gets maybe 10Mb/s.
Overall Review:
I bought three of these, all identical 8GB G4 models, and all three of them are equally slow. It's sold as a USB 3.0 stick and it has the characteristic blue USB 3.0 colored port, but the speeds are so horrific that I simply cannot justify spending $7.00 on one of them, and I'm sure not going to recommend it.
Seriously, I don't know what happened to Kingston. They used to make decent quality stuff that actually performed at decent speeds, but now they're selling USB 1.1 sticks and calling them 3.0? Do yourself a favor and find another USB flash drive. This one is just plain not worth the money.
Pros: Fairly low price for a usb 3.0 drive. we bought 8 of them. 8gb is ok for small file transfers and what not.
Cons: Speeds drop a little bit here and there, not exactly sure on what they are, but what are you going to do for this price.
Overall Review: These were bought for folks at work, but personally I would buy at least a 16gb or maybe a 32gb drive, simply for system images and large backups from clients files.
Pros: durable
Cons: bulky
Pros: Just works.
Cons: Slow USB3.

Pros: p1
Cons: p2
Overall Review: Great stick speed wise, if moving lots of small files onto it. Under priced in this regard.
