I bought this memory for an old PC, you would have to get the information about the Mac mini from a reliable source as to what kind of memory that unit takes.  As for the memory I bought it works great and really helps keep my old PC running the latest operating system and speeds up the running of applications.

I have no direct information on your computer,  but you can find the information on the Dell website under the support tab. Search for the model and it will give you the specs for the correct memory. Compare them with this product.  240 pin is the physical configuration. The rest of the numbers should also match. FYI, the 667 is the speed of the memory buss. Hope this helps.

You need to check your Motherboard to determine if it takes DDR2 memory. If it takes DDR3 it won't work...It would have to be about 4 or more years old to take DDR2. Match the memory speed and type specifications for the RAM you already have!

According to your computer's specifications, no this will not work in your computer.  You should contact Dell to confirm, but according to the documentation online you can only use PC2-3200 and PC2-4300 RAM.

AS it says in the description - 240 pin - this a full size DIMM chip to be used only in a desktop that uses DDR2 memory. Worked perfectly for my upgrade of an old HP desktop.

No the memory will not work at any other speed. You can only replace DDR2 533 with larger sizes of the same speed up to the size allowed by your motherboard. Look up the specifications for your motherboard to identify the largest allowable memory modules.

I have a dell Dimension XPS 400.I would like to add 4gb to my existing 4gb (4 slots of 1gb). Is this what I need to work in my xps 400 ?

Hi Joe,

The memory worked well for me in my Dell E521, but whether or not it will work in your XPS 400 because I'm not familiar with that computer.

I can, however, tell you how you can find out.  go to the Dell support site (I can't include the link because when I tried, I got an error when I tried to submit this, but the first element is "Support", the second is "Dell" and the third element is obvious), and either enter your service tag, or better yet, let the site detect the machine itself.  Then look for the configuration links (you may have to check the Warranty tab to find the configuration).  The "Original Configuration" page will tell you what kind of memory came with the machine, and if you let the site detect you computer, the "Current Configuration" will tell you what you have.  You can also follow the "Manuals" link and download the user and/or service manuals.

One of the great things about Dell is that they keep records of every computer the sell, almost forever, and this site is available, free of charge, to all Dell owners, regardless of how old the machine is.  I recently found information on a friend's Dell that's almost 20 years old.  The "Service Tag" and "Express Service Code" can be found on a black label somewhere on the computer's case.  I recommend, however, that you use the Dell computer to visit the site and let the site detect it.
