Since the product doesn't state anywhere that is is refurbished, it is new.  Regardless, I use this ram and have had no problems with it in the last year.

Can I mix a 2GB with a 1GB DDR2 memory modules on my motherboard?

Almost always, but it is dependent on your motherboard.  The speed and voltage of the RAM usually need to match, the size usually does not.  If you have 4 total memory slots in two different colors (a typical configuration of modern motherboards) the speeds can be different even (the speeds of the RAM in each color slot must match).  Summing up, you need to match speed (this ram being 667 MHZ), not size, or if you look and see that you have a set of 2 slots, both the same color, dont even worry about speed.  Also the speed of this RAM is such that it should work in virtually any motherboard.

Question 3

Will this product work with a ASUS Motherboard P5N-D?  My manual says it will, but I've been warned that this ram will only work with AMD motherboards.  Very confused.  Any help greatly accepted.

I have used this RAM exclusively on Intel Boards. That being said, I have yet to run across RAM that couldn't be used on either Intel or AMD boards (provided it is the correct RAM type).

I recently purchased a refurbished iMac 20" with a 2.66 Intel Core 2 Duo and 2 GB 667 SDRAM installed (early 2008).  I want to upgrade RAM but I'm seeing conflicting info.  Do I need 200 pin or 240?  PC2-5300 or PC2-6400?  Please advise ASAP.  Thanks!

All I know is that the new RAM must be identical to the old.  The Kingston RAM that I brought had  identical specs as the old one.  Both are in the same machine and I've had no problems.  As far as your other questions consult the manufacturer or the product manual.  Good luck.

First if you haven't already go to crucial website and scan your computer to see what ram type your computer can use and if your motherboard can handle 4Gs, if so then buy 2 2GBs of ram or 1 4GBs of ram

What does the PC2 5300 mean when purchasing memory?

PC2 XXXX denotes theoretical bandwidth.  So PC25300 has a top speed of 5300MB/sec. Bandwidth is calculated by taking transfers per second and multiplying by eight. This is because DDR2 memory modules transfer data on a bus that is 64 data bits wide, and since a byte comprises 8 bits, this equates to 8 bytes of data per transfer.
