Yes, they are attached to the cabinets with two wood screws. The speakers are shipped with the feet unattached and you have to attach them if you want to use them.

I am using a Yamaha RX-V579 (80w per channel, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, 0.09% THD, 2-ch driven, 8 ohms), will these speakers be a bit much for this receiver being bi-amped? The specs show 150RMS @8 and I don't want to under power them that much. Am I better off going with the R-24Fs?

Depends on the Size of the Area or room you will put this in as I have a 75 watt Yamaha that I'm using in a medium size room and they Sound absolutely -Great for Music and in My surround sound for Movies.
