So, silly situation, but I bought a single of the F-20 Premium Floor- Standing speaker while it was on sale, but now i'm wanting to get a second speaker and I'm looking at this item, the F-30. So I guess my question is what drawback would there be to having two different speakers? Is it an absolute no do or is it okay?

The dimensions are somewhat different, but besides having slightly better frequency response and 50w more power, they're about the same...  I guess it just depends on how OCD you are :)

Question 2

I'm looking at getting these as they are on sale for $200. My question is are they compatible with Computers or should i look into a different brand?

You make them compatible, there's no such thing as "computer compatible" speakers. A speaker is a speaker, if your asking if there is a built in amp inside, there isnt . You will need to buy a receiver powerful enough to handle these and figure out how to hook it into the 1/8" or HDMI port on your computer. Moral of the story, if you have to ask the question, you probably don't want these.

Question 3

Does my denon avr-e300 have enough power to drive these speakers?

avr-e300 is min 75 watts per channel and max 175 watts, which you will never hit. The klipsch can easily handle that. I have Onkyo which has min 125 watts output and this speakers handle it very well.

Question 4

I just purchased these speakers and i noticed there are 2 sets, 4 total, plugs on the back of the speaker. Which ones do i use to plug into my receiver?

Hello there,

You'll notice there is a gold bridge between each of the sets of plugs. If you're an extreme audiophile, you can purchase a receiver with different outputs for lows and highs. With a typical receiver, it does not matter whether you plug your wires in the "hi" or "lo" in either side as the bridge ensures the entire signal is routed to the appropriate speakers.

Don't confuse efficient with quality. Just physics. If a speaker is efficient it is easily confused with that it gets loud, doesn't work that way. Speakers are referenced by the quality of reproducing the original source. Speakers that usually get very loud  take into consideration the environment they will be used in. A great quality speaker tends to be a bit more fragile. Thus getting back to ABC's which all speakers should be driven with amps over the rated listed spec. Music as well as theater uses much more amps at peaks then many non professionals realize. Lights and meters don't even react fast enough to indicate these types of spikes. Yes all music is some what compressed but going from source to source can be a big deal. Most speakers will fail because of distortion created prior to reaching the speaker itself. The cleaner and stronger your amp, source right down to any pre amplification the happier your speakers will be. Keep in mind sometimes louder is just an effect and not true reproduction which most people enjoy anyway.

Does this speaker come with wiring to hook it up. If not what gauge wire did you use to run these to your receiver? Thank you

generally, only cheap-junk speakers come with the wire. you must provide the speaker wire.  i use 12 gauge oxygen-free copper speaker wire with banana plugs.  14 gauge ofc wire works well too.  ofc (oxygen free copper) speaker wire won't corrode and i find it to be about the same price as the cheaply made stuff.  i use the Sewell banana plugs because they are extremely easy to mount, secure the wire wonderfully and are priced right.  i buy them by the 24 pack.  you should use the same length wire for both speakers even if one speaker is closer to the amp than the other. good luck.

how tall is the speaker?

The speaker is 42" tall by 9" wide.  The depth is 16.5"  It takes 30 or so hours to make these speakers come alive  They are well worth the money.

can these take bi-amplification?do each speaker box carry 2 posts or 4 posts?

Yes each speaker has four posts for bi-amp/bi-wire connection. For bi-amping just remove the metal brackets that connect the top posts to the bottom posts.

I just bought that monster cable witch I'm sure is a ripoff. Not sure what gauge it is. I will say the speakers are phenomenal for the price. They sound great with the cheap denon amp I have.

Question 10

I plan on picking up two of these for my home audio system but haven't bought a system in a long time.  What would be a receiver pair up? How many watts etc?  Is there a concept of smart receivers? For instance, I'd like to stream from Spotify or control it from phone.  Thanks.

My last decent speakers were a set of Bose in a theater system.  These are way more efficient, need less than half the power. You still want about 100 watts/channel available. Especially if you do a home theater system. If you have neighbors anything over 60 watts/channel is good. I live in country and have a media room separate from the house with insulation so I am running a Sony receiver right now 7.1 at 115 Watts/channel. I am an audiophile and while I have had inefficient speakers and a Crown DC300A with 160/channel in a stereo it is overkill for these. Klipsch has always been known for being efficient. I open the doors to the media room, point the fronts out the door into my garage and tink on my cars when the weather is good. These dudes are a bargain. I have the full system with the S20's. Love it.
