Can these accept banana plugs?

The terminals in the rear of the speakers can accept wires which are placed through holes (terminal unscrews and tightens against wires) or using banana plugs. There are small caps on the top of the terminal which when removed expose the connection for a banana plug.

Question 2

What is the size of the speakers ? We are looking for a small set of nice computer speakers.

Accepted Answer

These are about a foot wide and 6 inches tall. They are nice surround speakers but I don't recommend them for "main" speakers. Each speaker has two tweeters firingin two different directions. This creates a lot of reflected sound that woks well for surround effects but can hurt imaging when used a front right and front left stereo setup. If you want to use home speakers, I would find a nice set of small bookshelf speakers. You will generally still need an amplifier of some sort though.

CAN THESE SPEAKERS BE USED WITH A HDTV?

I am going to assume that you are going to hook them up to the HDTV directly via the external speaker jack on the HDTV (usually an 1/8" stereo output jack). Then yes they will work with the HDTV. (Note: The stereo line outputs (RCA style jacks) found on many HDTV is the wrong impedance and will not drive external speakers like the S-10).

I am using the S-10 as full range rear speakers in an 5.1 surround sound set-up. But being that the S-10 are full range speakers I would expect them to sound quite nice when hooked up to the TV directly.

Many would argue that the HDTV audio amplifier's output is relatively low so you should not expect thunderous bass and ear shattering sound levels.  I think sound levels will be quite acceptable and the S-10s will be a marked improvement over the typical HDTV built-in speakers, so enjoy.

Are these suitable for rear surround speakers in 7.1 application?

These are the best surround speakers I have come across and reasonable price. You will enjoy them in 7.1 configuration especially if you have a nice receiver pushing them. I have a Marantz 1604 and replace old receiver and sony speakers with these and Polk front speakers. It's great pull the trigger.

Question 5

I have Klipsch satellite speakers mounted on the back wall. Can the Synergy S-10s be used as front channel speakers OR should I move them to the back and the satellite speakers to the front?

These are intended to be rear speakers and I don't think you would be happy with them as fronts.  Personally, I would buy the B-20 front speakers for about the same money and leave your existing satellites where they are.  I have B-20's as fronts, the S-10's as rears and a C-20 center.

Would these speakers work for wireless, Blueray sound from my computer to a TV in another room?

I'm not exactly sure how you plan to accomplish this so I can't say for sure, but keep in mind that these are not powered speakers. They are driven by the receiver.

Question 7

Can I pair this with a Denon 75 watt per channel amp and 150 watt polk monitor 50 floor speakers?

The Klipsch website lists these as 50W RMS / 200W Peak, so I'm not sure I'd plug them into something pumping an average of 75W.

Can these be mounted to the ceiling? If yes what's the best ceiling mount to do so?

My own S-10s are ceiling mounted.  I had my cabinet shop make me an " upside down " ell board- the short end of the ell mounted to the ceiling;  the long part of the ell long enough to set the top of the speakers about 9" from the ceiling. ( My ceiling is 96" high), and long enough to use the mounting screws on the rear of the speakers.
   When mounting to the ceiling, drill the short part of the ell in the middle, so when you mount them to the ceiling you can " swivel" them until you get the desired surround "spread" across the back soundstage. A toggle bolt is best for mounting to the ceiling since it will allow you adjustment until you reach the desired final position.

What is the size of the box?  I need to know if it would fit inside my boxes which are to be shipped home

Hey, sorry the box has been tossed but just add 2 inches all around the speaker dimensions and you should be close.
Speaker is 5.6" x 11.8" x 4.6" (H x W x D) / 5 lbs
so the box, in order to hold packing material, should be at least
8x14x7

Do these speakers have a Digital Optical connection?

What do the connections look like on the speakers?

Hey these speakers have a positive and negative binding post terminal. This means a red Nd a black post for attaching the wires that either screws down on the bare speaker wire, or after attaching a bandanna plug to your speaker cable you can plug it in to the hole on top of the binding post. These are regular speakers and have to be plugged up to speaker wires. There is no other way to plug them up, considering they are not self powered or anything like that. Optical digital inputs and outputs would be located on your audio receiver unit. I hope this helps. Have a good one.
