Explain 2x2. Is this two drives in one case in raid configuration?

1. Re RAID and 2 drives:
There is no RAID.  It has a single Seagate 7200 RPM 6TB drive as per LaCie website.

2. Re "2x2":
It's just poor product titling.  There should have been a larger space between the "Thunderbolt2" and the "x2", as in "Thunderbolt2 x2", meaning it has TWO Thunberbolt2 ports in addition to the single USB 3.0 port.

The fact that the drive is a Seagate drive worries me a little due to Seagate's less-than-stellar reliability record over the last decade.  Not sure what drives are in my two 2TB LaCie Quadra drives.  Who knows, maybe they're Seagates, too!

That said, my 2TB eSata/USB2/Firewire4/800 Quadra drives have been working perfectly for 4+ years, running continuously - except, that is, for their habit of disconnecting every so often when connected via the speedy eSata.  That happens regardless of which power switch setting I use (power saving or Full ON).  Alas, eSata, like Thunderbolt, requires rebooting to reconnect the drives that get disconnected.  I fixed that problem by running a scheduled BAT file that quickly writes a tiny text file to the root of each every 10 minutes.
