What is the name of the app use to set up the PWF822-1?

The app is listed on the card in the box with the camera.  It is LaView Life, and can be downloaded on your phone. If you have any technical issues, their customer support was wonderful. This camera uses an audio sound to configure the camera & network. Be sure to have the camera close to the router while setting it up. If you want to update the app, it will automatically come in with regular phone updates. In my case, I had to update the camera software to get things working properly. Be close to the router for that too. For the money, these are great cameras. I think you can have up to 6 cameras on one phone, however I have 4 currently. There are no antennas on the cameras, so range is not great, no adjustment possible. You need a powerful router with big antennas to get better range.  I use an Asus, but can only get about 30 feet through walls and objects. Gets the job done. These send tons of notifications, so a bit annoying, but are perfect for checking on something like house temperature, or furnace gauges, flooded basement, etc., rather than relying on notifications. The Micro SD card slot is great also as it records what you set it to record. To view the recordings, have to download to your phone. Live view is great. Can look at any camera individually, or 4 at a time. Very wide angle view. Very satisfied.

Do you need to have an internet connection and will it record and detect motion through a window?

Yes, you need Internet because this hooks into your wireless network. Be aware, as I was not before I bought this camera, it can only use a 2G connection, it is not 5G capable. It also needs to be near a power supply to be plugged in.  Yes, it records and detects through a window. The picture is really clear and sharp. You download the App to your phone and you can view it in real time.  I bought a 512gb mini SD for video storage.  One caveat, if you use this through a window, you will not get night vision because it will only show reflection from the window glass.

Can I see these cameras using web browser of my PC??

No, as per another person's Q/A on 12/14/2018, It DOES NOT work with ANYTHING other than the proprietary app. No RTSP, no ONVIF, no VLC, no browser, etc.  However, if you really want to run it on a PC, the proprietary Android app will run on the BlueStacks Android emulator, downloadable for free.  If I recall correctly, you'll still need a phone for initial setup and to enable the camera's  WiFi connection.

Is this powered by household current?  The specs say 5 v so does it come with an adapter?  Or what?

Yes, it comes with an adapter. 5V is referring to the voltage of USB, which is what actually plugs into the camera (micro USB).

How many cameras can be hooked to the same app?

I am not aware of any limits to the number of cameras that can be added. I have three and didn’t have any problems adding cameras.

Nope
It has to be plugged in to USB like a phone charger. It has the wall plug adapter along with the micro USB cable. Could use it with a charge bank if you wanted.
