Does this model (Lenovo Flex 2 15 (59418265)) have a backlit keyboard? Features says yes - specs say no.

This computer does have a back lit keyboard.  I will warn you though when opening the lid of the laptop open it from the corners at the same time. I didn't do this and I have lines running down my screen. (Due to the cord getting pinched inside the display)

Came with 1 battery as do all laptops (I wouldn't be buying from a site where the battery is not included because they're ripping you off).

what material is it made of?...plastic or metal?

Plastic but it doesn't feel cheap. The only thing I don't like about this laptop is the keyboard slightly bends when I type on it. It might just be my heavy typing but it's ok. The keyboard is also set up kind of weird (the Backspace button is very close to the NumLock button). I LOVE the touch screen. I'm not a big fan of Windows 8 but can't do much about that.

no I have a computer that has the touchpad off to the side. However I am right handed. the touch pad is generally placed under the spacebar so that it is easier for you to move your mouse while typing. this is an opinion though it might still be annoying to you regardless
