Overall Review: This is a great laptop; my second Lenovo. It's stiff but light. The keyboard has chiclet-style keys, but is not squishy. The keyboard is backlit which is a nice feature, but is not automatic. You have to turn the back light on and off using [FN]+[SPACE BAR]. With the 8 core AMD Ryzen 7, 8 gigs of ram, and a 512GB SSD drive, this thing is perfect for me. I ran a UserBenchMark test and it scored "Aircraft Carrier".
Pros: This Lenovo IdeaPad 5 is a decent laptop for business or personal use. It seems to be well made, has a great screen, not too heavy and plenty of power for everyday computing tasks.
Cons: The one downside of this laptop is that the memory is not upgradable. I don't know how I missed that, although I'm sure it's intentionally down played. I thought 8Gb would be enough to start with and I could add more if necessary.
The fingerprint reader works well but the laptop would be better if it had a Windows Hello compatible camera so you could use facial recognition.
Overall Review: Overall, I am pleased with this purchase and I hope the 8Gb doesn't become an issue for at least 2-3 years.
Pros: Good price with a great engine under the hood
Cons: Can't expand beyond 8GB RAM.
Overall Review: Not a good choice because you can't add RAM! Memory is soldered on the motherboard, with the memory slot.
