Will this thing work with my wifi extender? Is that what 'wireless LAN' is?

I cannot answer your question directly but I have an indirect answer. I reloaded this unit with Debian GNU/Linux 7.2.0. With that configuration all of the hardware functioned perfectly. Including the WIFI connection. Since you are not running the same software I am nor do I know what piece of equipment you are referring to I cannot tell you if they are compatible. All I can tell you is that I was able to get everything functioning even without retaining the Microsoft install. I do not use nor have I ever used Microsoft myself but I have had to repair plenty of equipment using it so I am familiar with it. In case you retain Microsoft as your ops sys you might have to get the proper drivers for your hardware. I can however tell you that the hardware itself works as advertised.

I'd like to purchase (5) five of these but need Windows 7 Professional installed, can you accommodate for same pricing?

You'll probably have to buy it with the OS that it comes with and install Windows 7 yourself.  (This is the community forum and you most likely meant to ask Lenovo if they make a machine like this with Windows 7 Professional preloaded?)
