Does using it as a laptop (on your lap in an airplane say) require the stand to rest on your legs?  In other words, is there any support for the screen when hooked to the keyboard other than the back stand?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the back stand needs to be opened to support the angle you need.  This is not a laptop where screen is supported by the hinges and keyboard.  Depending on your proportion, this is lap-able, but on the airplane, use the fold down tray table, or the on screen keyboard, touch screen or the pen.  Don't be a T Rex and don't bend your neck down for long period of time.

If you damaged it, you will have to contact Lenovo and pay for a new one. If it is malfunctioning, we had that happen on one of our Lenovo miix 700's, you can contact Lenovo and have them send you a new one (if it's still in warranty). Don't let them talk you into sending the computer to them for repairs, though. Be persistent and have them send you the keyboard.

Yes all miix 700 tablets include a keyboard. Most of them do not include the stylus pen ($40) except for the highest end  model.

By board I'm guessing you mean the system motherboard? If that's the case, you should be covered under the manufacturer's warranty if within 1 year of purchase. Outside of that you have to pay for the parts and labor through Lenovo tech support or a 3rd party.

It is compatible in the sense that it runs faster than on tablet with ATOM chips.  The amount of workspace will depend on  your comfort level and workflow on hide/unhide menu, tools and panels.  Install third party customizable floating toolbar to improve your workflow.
