They are two separate drives, one an SSD 256 GB and the other a standard 3 1/2" form factor 2TB drive.

There is no such thing as a "SS Hard drive". It's either a hard drive (physical spinning drive) or a solid state drive (no physical moving parts). To my knowledge SSD and Hard Drives are always separate  pieces of equipment.
