Question 1

Is there a USB port on this keyboard itself, such as for a thumb drive or mouse?  If so, that would mean plugging the USB stick (or mouse) directly into the keyboard instead of the PC (or laptop).

The technical way to ask this question is whether there is a single-port USB hub in the keyboard.

I recall some older versions of this keyboard having one.

The only USB port on the keyboard is a mini-B port for connection of the cable from the PC to the keyboard.  There is no port available for a mouse or USB stick.

What is the width of this keyboard? It's listed as "compact" but no size shown.

It is 11 and 15/16ths" wide, and 6 and 7/16ths deep.
It is less than an inch high with the feet extended.
