I highly recommend a upgrade, it fixes most software bugs I had, besides I had to uninstall the touchpad (Sympnatics driver) to make windows new driver work, and even gave me better battery life.

Yes you can connect to a projector. No it does not have a VGA port.  You need to purchase a HDMI to VGA connector.  They are not very expensive.  Remember the Miix 2  has a "micro" HDMI port and you will most likely need an adapter to size up the "micro" port to a standard HDMI.  Using Windows 8.1, you may also need to adjust your display size.
