How long do you have to use the 600 minutes?  Does the phone come with a charger?

Yes, there is a charger with a wall adapter and USB connector for attachment to a PC. Standard with TracFone is 90days with each "minutes/unit" card purchased, however time is compoundable. I transferred both my "minutes" and "days" along with my phone# when I purchased this and TracFone was generous enough to retain all my previous allotments.

is the text screen the alphabet or numbers??????

The screen on the LG 306G displays both letters (the alphabet) and numbers.  It also can display pictures taken by its camera, downloaded from the internet, of downloaded from an email.

Can I get a Square App and if so HOW?

Do a Google search for Square, and look on their site to see the electronic requirements for plugging in a Square, and see if this phone is listed on their compatibility list.  Or email them.
