Question 2

I'm looking at wearing this while riding my motorcycle and was wondering if it was waterproof/resistant and if the buttons are tactile (ie work with normal/non-conductive gloves)?  Thanks!

Not waterproof that I know of.  I would tuck the set under my collar(on a cycle, water will get into any crevice though), and stay behind a windshield.  The pause/play and answer buttons standproud of the headset shell. I used to ride, and I can see how the noise cancelling aspect of this set would be nice.

I would rate the set only a 4 out of 5 because it occasionally will lose connection while I am HOLDING my tablet, unlike the HBS-700 I had before.  It will also sometimes connect only to phone and not media, but that could be a tablet/headset issue (although I don't remember any problems with my HBS-700).

Question 3

The first generation (HBS-700) model has an annoying blue flashing light surrounding the call button on the left that is distracting both to others and even yourself when in a dark room.  Does this new model also include a flashing light?  If so, is it comparable to previous models (i.e., distracting)?

Yes and no.

Yes, there is still a small blue flashing led when connected, but it is much more subtle.  It is on the inside of the left holster that rests on your shoulder.  I can not see it out of the corner of my eye while wearing the headset unlike the earlier version(s) which I also owned.  This will be lg headset number 4 for me!

is this headset compatible with a Nokia phone?

It is compatible with any phone that has Bluetooth capabilities.

i just got mines and not sure about the charging part. do i leave the headsets OFF to charge?????? How will I know it is charging? or how will I know if its fully charged?

You should always turn the headphones off before charging. When you plug the headphones the indicator light will turn red. When the headphones are fully charged, the light will turn off.

Question 6

The product comes with a charging cable but not a charger.  Can you tell me if the cable is the standard cable with USB connector on one end but what type of connector is on the other end of the cable?

The cord is a standard USB connector on one end. The other is a small, trapazoid-like fitting. About the width of the Apple Lightning but thicker (if that makes sense?). I don't know what the name of the adapter is.....

These are great devices - I provide all my guys with them.

The battery eventually weakens but it gives you a full day service.

I've paired mine with a Windows Laptop and as long as the Bluetooth radio is turn on it pairs automatically when I boot up.

I had the prior version. The wires going to the main collar unit eventually wore down from wearing it under my shirt collar eventually only working on one side. Turns out the friction created from normal wear WILL wear down the wires. Has the manufacturer reinforced the contact where the wire enters the collar piece?

I am not completely sure to be honest.  A friend of mine has the previous model and I only looked at this one because the speakers were produced by JBL.  I love mine and wear it every single day at some point, many days for 8+ hours.  Battery never dies and unit sounds great.  I have had absolutely no problem but have not owned long enough to determine if the wires will wear.  This model does have a small clip to hold the wires onto the collar piece so it should not wear at the point of entry into the unit.  Hope this helps.
