Yes it can be. I do not personally mount it to the ceiling but It has a 'ceiling' option in the menu to turn the picture right side up.

I had several DLP projectors and never saw rainbow effects but I think if you are looking for it you will find it.

can you stream wirelessly on this projector from a mac?

nope..u need apple tv. it works ocassional for PC using widi but not consistant.

What is the imput lag?

Input lag is 170ms for each video mode and 72ms for game mode. I play games on it all the time and when in game mode, input lag is definitely not a problem.

Can you Use it for Rear Projection?

yes, you can flip the image in the settings
