Im new to this - where do you run the line IN to the switch? I see the 24 out ports but no IN port?

In a switch you can "uplink" on any port. On this particular switch i would use the last port because 1-8 are your PoE ports and you don't want to waste those on the uplink.

Is this and active POE or Passive POE?
