Pros: Good cheap drive that replaced an OLD, BUSTED CD burner in an old Dell tower. Installed without a hitch on Windows XP PRO.

Pros: Have an older system that needed a new DVD burner and I have aleways had good results with Liteon and this drive is no exception. just be sure you mean to get an IDE drive and not a SATA drivesome newer computers don't accept IDE

Pros: I bought this DVD drive to build a computer with, and it does what it says it does. It reads and writes CDs and DVDs. Not much more.

Cons: It doesn't have a very fast read speed, and it takes about five or ten seconds to recognize a disc. However, if you're playing games from this drive, they don't lag. Idk why this is, maybe its just a thing with the initial disc recognition. No idea.

Overall Review: Cheap, and it works. I would buy it again.

Overall Review: Bought this for a client's PC built.

Pros: quite, great CD/CDr/DVD/DVDr read/write speeds for an IDE, works internally or externally (firewire 400/usb2.0), inexpensive, works with PC or Mac.

Cons: DVD-RAM (disc-only, not cased) support is very unreliable. it will read the initial insertion of a DVD-RAM disc and contents, but extracting content or erasing content would not work. rebooting and trying the same disc over again ended in only a flashing light-show from the drive's indicator light.

Overall Review: i never had a problem with my old old OLD Pioneer DVR108, which wasn't even advertised as being able to read DVD-RAM discs but did(no recording though) accessing the content from my TV set-top Panasonic Recorder. I was really hoping to finally be able to use all of the free DVD-RAM discs i got when i purchased my Panasonic TV Recorder, as i would rather us them for computer use than recording TV shows! (since the set-top Panny has an internal HDD for TV recording) if you don't care or need DVD-RAM read/write, then i give it a 5-star rating, and you should buy it. if you need a drive with perfect DVD-RAM usage, don't bother with this Lite-On.

Pros: This drive gets the job done. I haven't had a problem with it yet. The drive isn't even that loud when writing/reading in my opinion. Haven't tried burning anything to DVD yet, but burnt multiple music CD's with no problems. What else can I say? Works as expected, no complaints.

Pros: -Burns DVD's great. Have only used it with a DVD backup program, no CD or DVD creator projects yet. The backup discs are playing with no problem on my DVD player.

Cons: -As other reviews have said, it is a bit noisy when it spins up, but doesn't really bother me.

Overall Review: -I looked online to see what the difference is between +/-...couldn't really find anything significant. When I bought my spool of DVD's at the store, the store associate said that there really isn't a difference when all you need to do is back up movies because most DVD players will work with both. -For anyone considering NewEgg for the first time, I highly recommend them! I accidentally bought a SATA model, thinking that the SATA power plug must be an ATA 133 data plug. NewEgg's online customer service chat representative was very helpful in getting me an RMA, and e-mailed me a UPS return label so I could send it back.
