No it does not...it is all molded one piece - it is very nice

Can you change the color scheme to only one color instead of rainbow?

Yes. You can make it one color or different colors. It can also be steady light or moving light wave. You can pick whatever color you want.

does this kb do macros? i see no mention of it in reviews or specs/overview. yet it came up as a search result when i looked for MMO gaming keyboard..

Unfortunately it does not. The keyboard offers greater roll-over and anti-ghosting and it is meant as more of an "entry-level" keyboard in games that demand multiple keypresses, such as FPSes and certain MMOs. You might want to look elsewhere if you're interested in keyboards with macro keys.

Will this work with Mac os?

Logitech support page states that you need Mac OS X 10.10.x or later.

Does this keyboard have the backslash key above the enter key and not beside? In other words is it the US layout and not the US international layout?

Yes it does. You can verify this by looking at one of the pictures shown and zooming in. It clearly shows the backslash key directly over the Enter key.
