Question 1

I purchased a G810 and had significant metallic ping noises due to the internal plate (not caused by key actuation, as the noise can occur just from tapping the keyboard itself). I'm trying to find out if this is an uncommon defect, or a common occurrence like on Filco boards. If you own a G810, are you experiencing this same issue?

And yes, I know there will be people who don't own this keyboard posting nonsense. It is the internet, after all.

I own the keyboard and the metallic noise is normal, when typing it's only really noticeable if you hit the keys hard or when pressing space almost all the time.. as for tapping the keyboard, with the highest legs up sitting on the desk, I have to tap with my nails above the arrow keys really hard to hear a slight clang, and if the keyboard is suspended on my monitor base and I do the same test, the clang is more apparent but nothing worrysome.. I'd say it depends on how much it bothers you, but my keyboard feels pretty sturdy (and weighty)

Are the LED's behind the G logo, the num/scrol/caps lock indicators and media buttons also RGB and changeable via software like they keys?

Can the keys be remapped based on game profile? Example: some games don’t have the ability to remap certain inputs civ. 6 is one such game, could I with the keyboard remap the WASD keys to be Arrow keys?

Unfortunately, no. This keyboard is essentially limited by what the Logitech Gaming Software application allows it to do. As an owner and browsing the options available, remapping key inputs is not an available option. The only options for game profiles is lighting schemes, disabling specific keys (such as avoiding pressing the caps lock key if you press left shift often while in game) and "G-key" modifiers, where holding down F1-F12 and then an additional key can be used for alternate functions (i.e. Space bar is "action button", but F1+ space bar is "exit vehicle")

Sorry no USB port on keyboard.  It's a great keyboard though I have two for me and my grandson.

Can you re-bind/program any of the keys or just the F keys?

Just the F keys. It's pretty in-depth the things you can do to the F keys, but bear in mind that you can't record on-the-fly, unlike some keyboards with dedicated macro keys.

To which color Cherry MX switch does the switches used in this keyboard compare?

I think they compare well to a Cherry MX Brown with a shorter distance to the actuation point.  My first mechanical keyboard had Cherry Brown switches, the Orion 810 is my second, and I really like the shorter distance or these switches.

This is a solid made keyboard. I would make sure whoever is refurbishing it understands the components. If you trust that it's done with care, I would buy a replacement even if it's a refurbished item. Best keyboard I've ever owned.
