Specs say Swiveling, tripod-ready design.  How easy is it to take the clip off and mount on a spider leg style tripod?

Very easy, unit has a screw on the bottom that screws to a tripod.  I have two tripods: a gorilla brand 12" tripod that this camera screws directly to. I also have a bigger 5' tripod where the unit screws to a plastic block of the tripod and then that block clips to the tripod.  I use this camera to play board games with family over the internet, mounted to a tripod and pointed down at the game board.  works well.

Will this Webcam be able to mount/clip to the top of my monitor?

I have mine "mounted" to the top of my monitor. It seems to be fairly universally adjustable.

There is close to an inch of overhang on the piece that sits against the top, so if your top bezel is under 3/4" it would probably cover just a bit of the screen.

What does the extension cable look like? Can I purchase an extra extension cable if I want to place the camera more than 6 ft away? Thank you.

The extension cable is a standard USB extension cable with a female end (to pug the camera in to) and the male end to plug into your computer.  These can be purchased at electronics stores and may be touted as keyboard/mouse extension cables.  Don't get one too long as the signals for a mouse/keyboard are small in quantity compared to the data streaming through from the camera.  Camera signals may be affected by electrical noise, from numerous sources, causing signal degeneration from your camera.  Hope this helps.

Can you use the microphone for in game voice chat? (e.g. tf2)?

I have never tried using this for that feature. This camera was used for security "photo/video purposes only for me. It was able to deliver quality video and sound together. If the game you are using requires a camera then I would be inclined to think that the microphone would also activate. But, this is a question that would be better suited for a discussion thread involving your specific game.

I use it to monitor traffic outside my home.  I also place it near the floor to record the antics of my puppy.  Another use, I have placed it on a long USB extension cord and recorded the disassembly of some complex automotive parts.  The built in microphone helps here too.  It takes very good/sharp video and is small enough to squeeze into tight places.  I think it was a very good purchase and has proved to be quit useful.

I purchased WEBCAM logitech C615 R, and it does not run on Macs, can you verify that model C615 does?

I have a MacBook Pro, with its own camera, so I installed the C615 on my Win-7 desktop instead. Sorry I can't advise you here.

Will this camera work with windows 8?

Yes I am using it with windows 8 and it works great.  The picture quality is better than my previous camera and my family says the picture is much clearer when we use Skype.  The software was installed with windows update and it has been trouble free for 2 years.
