I purchased this keyboard about two months ago... and have been using it as an external keyboard to my Dell XPS12 running Windows 8.

I have had no problems whatsoever with the compatibility between the keyboard and Windows.

This is hilarious to me.  I've been WAITING for Newegg to answer my Emails to give me an RMA to RETURN this.  When I purchased I thought it was smaller in size.  I did not take out of plastic because I wanted a small keyboard to go with my iPad and such.

Will this keyboard share a Logitech  dongle with a Logitech M510 mouse?

You must see if both the keyboard and mouse use the Logitech Unifying Receiver- it has a special symbol on it rather than the word 'Logitech'. it is a mini receiver. The K800 does use one for sure. I think the M510 does not but you will need to check your documentation.

If they do, follow the Unifying Receiver instructions in the K800 manual or the M510 manual or from Logitech's website. You can also Google "unifying receiver logitech" for answers.

I believe a usb cable to charge the keyboard.  This is a fantastic item,  charge lasts over a week with many hours of daily use.  Charges quickly and it can be used while charging.  Not lag time on keys.  Keys have a good feel and not one has stuck yet after more than a year of use.  Layout is fine.  I have not tried the many function keys as I don't use macros for repetitive tasks/functions.

No, but the keyboard's worked flawlessly for 8 months so far.

The way I see it, the standard warranty should be good enough.  If you do something reckless that's likely to result in permanent damage (like spilling orange juice all over it) then you deserve to pay for a new one yourself.

What are the specs to replace the rechargeable batteries?
Also, where can the rechargeable batteries be purchased?  Thanks.

I opened the battery cover on the back of mine, and I saw 2 rechargeable AA batteries. They can be purchased anywhere! I don't remember whether the keyboard came with these batteries or not, it's been so long since I got it! I may have installed them myself, or they may have come with the keyboard. Don't hesitate buying this item, I love it!!

Is this a "Manufacturer Refurbished" or a "Seller Refurbished" product?  Did Logitech refurbish the keyboard?  Thanks.

I purchased mine refurbished over a year ago, use it daily, and love it. Have had no problems with it. As far as who refurbished it, I suggest contacting Newegg for that answer. Some of these vendors have other companies (not the manufacturer) that do their refurbishing for them; Logitech may or may not have done it themselves.

Question 9

The f5 and f6 keys don't do anything when pressed to lighten or darken the backlight.  Am I doing something wrong?

you need to hold down the yellow "FN" key while pressing F5/F6. its between "ALT" and "CTRL" on the lower right of the keyboard. it has 6 levels, including "off."

YES, BUT YOU'LL HAVE TO PROGRAM SOME KEYS TO WORK IN OS X. GOOGLE THE QUESTION ON HOW TO PROGRAM DIFFERENT KEYS (LIKE EJECT) WITH THE MODEL NUMBER OF THIS KEYBOARD. I HAVE A 27 INCH iMAC AND HAVE USED THIS KEYBOARD WITH NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. I PREFER THE APPLE WIRELESS KEYBOARD THOUGH AND GAVE LOGITECH KEYBOARD TO A WINDOWS FAN. IT CAN COME IN HANDY IF YOU HAVE BOOT CAMP ON YOUR MAC. I QUIT USING WINDOWS AFTER WINDOWS 8 AND WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THAT MESS AGAIN. GOOD LUCK AND "HAPPY NEW YEAR"
