Logitech Cordless Desktop LX 310 Laser

Pros: Fast shipping from Newegg. Works great even 6 feet away, haven't changed the batteries yet. You can't see the laser unlike the bright red light of an optical mouse.

Cons: If you buy this product on a rebate offer don't expect to get it from Logitech. Logitech sent me this email regarding my rebate... "Invalid Reason: Exceeds limit: Logitech Cordless Desktop There are either no valid rewards or there is a $0 check reward"

Overall Review: The only reason I gave this product 4 stars was the fact that I did not receive the mail in rebate from Logitech. Otherwise the quality of this product gets 5 stars.

Pros: This is such a great wireless set at an amazing price! I got it during Black Friday so it came out to less than $20. I've had just the mouse that cost $40 that failed repeatedly. The keyboard and mouse has never drop connection since I've plugged it in and I usually keep my PC going for days at a time. The keys give a nice bounce to it, very good feedback, quiet but still a nice click to it. The mouse is the best I've ever used. It has great response. The click of the buttons are not loud but it is just enough to make you feel your working. No plastic creaking and squeaking sounds when click on the buttons like some mice. Scrolling is smooth & silent. It also has just enough weigh to it so it doesn't feel cheap, it feels nice and sturdy. I've use this on XP Pro SP3 32bit, Vista 64bit and Ubuntu Ibex 64bit and I didn't have to install any of the drivers from the disk I just plugged it in and it worked without issue. Only uses 1 usb slot for receiver for both mouse & keyboard.

Cons: It doesn't have the Scroll Lock button on it for people who use KVM switches but what you can do is have both the ps/2 keyboard and mouse plugged in with this wireless set. I've tried doing that and there is no lag or interference at all. I've tried typing with this keyboard and continue with the ps/2 keyboard and it picked up right away from where I left off, same thing with the mouse. Since I have a very small keyboard for the ps/2, I just keep it on the side of my desk and use it when I need to switch using the KVM and it doesn't get in the way at all. Way better than struggling to get to the back of my PC to change the cables. Also I only use this at my desk so I dont really know how well the connection would be if you want to use it very far away, from what I hear you probably dont want to use it more than 10 ft away. For me the connection is wonderful but like I said I use it within a foot of the receiver because I'm at my desk. No response for my rebate yet.

Overall Review: The 2 buttons on top of the mouse that lets you got to a previous webpage and forward to a webpage is actually not a big problem as some have said, at least not for me. It is actually very hard to accidentally press them, you have to slide your hand back a bit and bend your finger back and press down solidly before it even reacts so I have never hit it by accident, it was hard to do even I tried to purposely "accidently" hit it, it is very convient to have them, once I got use to them being there and remember they were there it was great to just hit those instead of scrolling to the top left hand of the page to go back or forward. Believe it or not but if you use the computer for hours at a time, this is a big relief for your shoulders to not be needlessly moving the mouse just to go back a page. You just bend your finger and thats it, well it help my shoulders at least :) Duracell batteries included has been working for a couple of months now with no issues.

Pros: Works OK. Inexpensive.

Cons: The actual range is much shorter than the advertised range. If you are more than 5 feet from the antenna then the mouse buttons to not click properly and the keyboard drops every other keystroke. Also you must turn off the mouse when you are not using it or you will go through batteries every 2 weeks.

Pros: Very easy to setup. The littel touches on the mouse are nice. The scroll button actually leans side to side to scroll to the left and right.

Cons: No side button on mouse. I like those for gaming. But this really isn't a gaming mouse. It is a REALLY nice general use keyboard and mouse.

Pros: Simple, stylish, works.

Cons: The keyboard sometimes stops responding, especially if the wireless transmitter isn't near by. I need to touch/push the transmitter a bit and it starts responding again. This happens rarely and isn't really an issue (unless I'm gaming and it happens, and it did a few times), but it can be annoying sometimes. It doesn't have a scroll lock button, and its configuration for home/end/delete keys is someone unusual and takes getting used to.

Overall Review: I'm happy with the purchase, but I'd definitely like the stuff in Cons fixed.

Pros: It works right out of the box. Compact light weihgt design, good range.

Cons: Unusually small characters placed in the center of each buttons.(This is does not mater for most young American :)).

Overall Review: The keyboard is no good for second input language stickers(see cons).This thing should be listed in the spec. RMAed it for Logitech PRO 2400. Bravo Newegg.

Pros: It's wireless

Cons: Bought it for my HTPC build. The range is not adequate for my needs. Sitting on my sofa, if I put the mouse on the arm to my right - no joy. That's about 8-10 feet away from the receiver (the receiver was out in the open with clear LOS). Put it on my left and it works - about 6 feet away. The keyboard was also very laggy and missed a number of keystrokes. I might work ok in a desktop situation but then why do you need wireless on a desktop?

Overall Review: I replaced it with Logitech's bluetooth combo and it does the trick. If you are building HTPC and need range - go with bluetooth. A 2.4GHz might do the job too - didn't try that.

Pros: Great combo for the price. Easy to set-up and appears nicely made. The LASER mouse is a real plus.

Cons: The range on this thing is AWFUL! It will work great if you have the transmitter/receiver sitting on a desk really near to the equipment. I got it for a computer attached to my HDTV and had the transmitter/receiver no more than 5 feet from the keyboard/mouse and they glitched all over the place. The transmitter/receiver was not behind stuff or hidden in any way. It was sitting directly across from the keyboard/mouse in unobstructed line of sight (ya I know it is RF and not IR.) But please, 5 feet?? I tried moving it to different spots to eliminate RF interference but no luck. I put fresh batteries in (It came with a set) and that was no help. This thing is just amazingly low powered. Desktop use only! And I hope you don't have a very big desk!

Overall Review: 3 eggs off for this one. Come on Logitech, I own lots of your stuff and it has been good as gold. This was a real bummer exception.
