Does this enclosure support 4TB hard drives?

I have only tried up to 2 TB hard drives, to which the unit is
compatible.  I would recommend you go to the manufacturer's
web site & contact customer support or sales support, since I have even been aware of a drive as large as 4TB, and if they are now available, the 4TB drives have not been on the market for a great period of time.  If this is the case, you may have to wait some time before the enclosure manufacturers to catch up
with the highter drive capacities.

My enclosure contains a seagate constellation 2TB enterprise drive, is extremely well made of 100% aluminum, a compound which is an excellent transfer element of heat.  My hard drive does not get hot, but the enclosure dissipates the warmth of the drive very efficienctly.

Installation is a breeze.  Rubber Grommets are used to minimize
vibration.

I have been purchasing Macally enclosures for 15 years and I
believe this is their finest model to date.  There is a blue LED
light beneath the on switch which indicates drive activity.

I currently own 6 of these enclosures, all have performed perfectly upon arrival and assembly.  I have owned them up to 
8 months.

Question 2

Is it safe to frequently travel with this when there is a drive in it?

I don't see a problem traveling with this drive enclosure. Just remember it has a platter type hard drive inside and be careful not to drop it. If the drive is not spinning the heads are parked and should not be damaged during movement. The enclosure is metal and sturdy. I would not have a problem taking this drive anywhere. The drive is mounted inside the enclosure and won't move. It's not a large enclosure so it is also easy to transport.

Question 3

Has anyone tried using a 6tb drive in this enclosure?

Hi, I have not tried using the Macally enclosure with a 6TB drive. I don't see any reason why it would not work. I myself haven't used a drive larger than 1TB in any enclosure. I just installed the drive and plugged in the enclosure and it worked. 
I just installed a 1TB SSD drive in the enclosure and it worked just fine. I really like this enclosure with all the connection choices. I have used Firewire, USB3.0 and eSata connections on multiple computers and the drive has worked flawlessly.
I think it should accept the 6TB drive. The enclosure just connects the drive to the ports so I don't see a size limit as a problem.
