What is the difference between the MLT-1and the MLT-2?

Likely the most major difference is with the sub. In the MLT-2 system you get a 10" versus the 8" in the MLT-1. I got my MLT-1 for the outrageous price of 129 after discount and with my h/k amp these things sound excellent for the price. Crisp, clear highs and lows that have punch but don't muddy with increased volume. I'm assuming you'll have a richer sound with the 10", but depending on the size of your room you might not notice a huge difference. My system is perfect for my apartment living room which measures about 15'x30'

I'm currently using Klipsch's promedia 2.1(wired) computer speakers for the sound on my laptop and desktop PCs. I just plug them into my 3.5mm port. If I upgrade to this 5.1 MartinLogan system, am I going to able to connect it to my PC easily without having to buy any special cables/adapters or a receiver or a new sound card? Or will it be simple like my Klipsch speakers?

Nope. These are just speakers. You will need an audio receiver to plug them into any audio source, including your computer.
