Can this be used to output three analog VGA sends?

While ts unit can accept an analog of digital input, the OUTPUT is digital only. There may be a similar unit with three analog outputs. I use it with the laptop and two digital monitors via the docking station, and it works pretty well. I sometimes have problems losing the configuration when it take the laptop off the dock and put it back, but I think I solved that by bring the laptop out of sleep mode OFF the dock, and cycling power to the dock and the TripleHead unit before putting it back on the dock. So far, this seems to have fixed that problem.

What is the down side for use wth the mac? It says it works with the Mac Book Pro but in the reviews it says something about needing the DP version instead of the DVI version?

There are lots of versions of this unit. Call customer support and have them coach you on the proper one. Tell them exactly what you plan to do, since these units can be less than tolerant of certain setups.
