can you plug a sataIII ssd hard drive into this esata port?

I have not tried this yet. It definitely works with other SATA drives. Be certain that you have the latest drivers from Mediasonic. It was released just a few days ago.

I just received 2 of these controller cards.  They came with no drivers of manual.

How do I get these??!!

I do not remember a driver disc coming with mine. I do still have what came with it and will need to verify, but I don't remember having a drivers disc. I believe Windows already had the driver or it searched for it. The one thing I've had issues with this is that whatever is connected to the card needs to be turned off when I turn my computer on, or else it will cause issues with my computer booting up.

Question 3

This is a PCI Express 2.0, is it backwards compatible with a PCI Express 1.0? I have three x1 slots on my board but they are Express and not Express 2.0.

Not a hundred percent sure it would be. But even if it is it will only operate at the PCI Express 1.0 spec.. It can't operate faster than the motherboard spec.
