I have had good luck with Verbatim and Memorex but have had issues with the light scribe burner sometimes doesn't burn correctly. It isn't usually do to the disc but the burner. You will find they are much more expensive. I also use a program that prints labels for discs that stick on the disk. These can be done in color and work quite well. by printable do you mean in labeling or do you mean to print out contents....I always buy memorex or sony as there are less bad disks in the package than any other brand I've tried.At the price I paid you can't go wrong.....I personally do not like to apply labels as they tend to wear out and ruin your burner or player.Don't like lightscribe either as it reduces the longevity of the burner.....just my opinion

It really depends on the player in question, but for the most part the - discs are generally more compatible than the +.  Although experiences tend to vary.  If in doubt buy a small pack and/or search places such as videohelp to see what is best for your player.

How many minutes recorded on DVD-R 4.g GB 16X?

Theoretically it is supposed to hold 120 minutes of recorded video.  I have gotten as much as 140 without a noticeable loss of quality but this depends on the software that you are utilizing.  I use Nero 11 on one system and Nero 12 on another system.  Both have given me excellent results but the main thing is to use a good QUALITY media and I have found Memorex to be of that quality or better.

Not to my knowledge...many if not all DVD manufacturers will indicate if their product(s) are printable right on the packaging.

As far as I know you can't, but, you should contact your Blue Ray HOME Theater System manufacture about a way to upgrade the software on the system.

What is the media code of these discs? The media code tells you exactly who manufactures the DVD media regardless of brand. Some examples are: RitekF1, MCC004-000, MBIPG101-R05, CMCMAG-AM3, AML003-000, et al. It cannot be found on the disc packaging, it must be scanned from an actual disc using a utility like DVDidentifier, ImgBurn, or Nero DiscSpeed.

Not to my knowledge!!  The Package should say either "printable" or "Light Scribe".
