What if I have a light controlled by 3 separate switches? Would this work in that scenario?

Yes. This should work if you install it in one of the ends (not in the middle). The way multi-switch networks are, you have 3 way switches at the ends and a 4 way in the middle (if you have 3 or more switches controlling the same light). They’re hooked up so whenever you flip one switch, it flips the light to the opposit state from what it was (on or off). In short, one of these would work.
