How do I remove battery cover?

This mouse does not have a battery or battery cover. It is a USB/PS2 compatible mouse with a cable. The mouse gets its power through the cable.

I have not used it, it is a backup for our computers but it looks and feels real but they make fake and real (authorized manufactuer) from China, it does not actually ship from Newegg which I don't like but reviews were good for this mouse.

How long is the cord?

Cord is about4 feet long.  However, if you are running Windows 10 I don't recommend this mouse.  Does not come with any software, old Intellemouse software doesn't work in Windows 10, so you can only adjust a couple of things on the mouse.  I quit using it.

Is this a genuine Microsoft product or is it a counterfeit?

It looks and feels identical to OEM.  Does not come in OEM package.  Mine came in a sealed box a little larger than the mouse itself.  The mouse is bubble wrapped and cord is tied up like new.  USB connector has cover in place.  That being said, it looks like real Microsoft.  I bought 3 of these, since I am an avid gamer and am pretty hard on the mouse.
