Question 1

Is this a compact (portable) mouse, or is it a full size desktop mouse? TIA

Full size mouse, powered  by qty 2 AA alkaline batteries, does not like rechargeable batteries, needs batteries replaced every 3 to 4 weeks, looses its wireless connection every now and then and sometimes requires a power on/off cycle of the mouse to reconnect.

Question 2

How is this for games? I hate having the cord and other wireless 2.4ghz mice suck because of distance and interference when playing on my laptop on the couch.

Sorry Sean, but I never used it for games. What I can offer is this: It was a great mouse!...as long as it was working, which was only for about a week. It has MAJOR connectivity problems with Windows 8 (for which it was specifically designed) and Microsoft has not come up with a suitable fix and refuses to support a product they manufacture. It's basically a paper weight now.  I switched to a Logitech M310 mouse...works flawlessly, but doesn't have some of the features I liked about the Sculpt Comfort Mouse.

Does it work with any tablets?

Yes, any tablet that would support bluetooth (presumably most these days) I have even synced the sculpt with my iPhone. Mostly I use mine with my laptop, so I can recline in my armchair and use the mouse comfortably on the upholstered arm. ~E

Question 4

Could we please get the physical dimensions of the mouse?  The last one I bought was way too small for my hand...

I don't have a tape measure so I'll use a Credit Card to compare.

Round edges make it slightly larger than a Credit Card, in width. Maybe 1/2 an inch longer than a Credit Card.

1.5 inches tall at the highest point, 1 inch at the right and left buttons.  (exact same dimensions as new Dell corded standard mouse)

In my opinion, the vibrating scroll on the side is too far forward.  My fingers tips are off the mouse by 1/2 an inch in order to get my thumb on the windows scroll button. (where it functions correctly)  
From the back edge, to the front of the Blue Windows button (which is a vibrating windows scroll) is exactly a Credit Card length.  the front of this windows button is the back of the scroll wheel.

Right and Left buttons function and click well, not slow and annoying like some.  Scroll wheel works great rolling and side to side.

Batteries drain quickly.  I use it daily and leave it sitting on my desk overnight, allowing it go to sleep to see how long they last and I managed to get 3 weeks.

Question 5

Does the mouse have to be turned off when not being used or does it go to sleep on its own ?

Ummm ... not sure.  I usually turn it off when transporting it (I use it with a Surface Pro). If not turned off, it wakes up anytime it senses a Bluetooth connection.  But even if this happens, it has minimal effect on battery life.   With daily use (several hours per day) the batteries last for several months.

Does this mouth wheel click or is it smooth?

Clicks when scrolling up and down. The "clicks" are very light,don't take much force to move, and they are close together. Also, push-and-hold for left-to-right scrolling.

Question 7

Initially connected with my iOS device but stopped connecting for sometime, can't find explanation. Device keep saying" make sure your Microsoft sculpt comfort mouse is turned on and in range. What could be the problem?

Make sure Bluetooth on your iOS device is turned on.  Then see if the mouse is paired with the device.

Does it come with a wireless USB receiver for computers without bluetooth?
