I want to reinstall window 10 home on Gigabyte Z170X Gaming; but, in the install process, window does not see the SSD hardrive. It says that it does not see the harddrive driver. If I bought this window 11 and install it, can this installation fix the problem?

If you are using newer drives like NVME drive then you have to format it on a system that has windows 10 on it and running , as for some reason this has happened to me when using Nvme drives like the 990 samsung  as windows does not see the drive unless it has been initailized by windows all ready. It needs the drivers from windows 10 on it in order for windows to recoghnize the drive. So if it is a nvme drive then using a windows 10 computer format the drive and then it will be recognized by the new OS

I am building my first PC.  Do I need a touch screen to use this software?  I simply have a typical monitor and don't want to waste my money on something I can't use.  Second question.  I have an external dvd drive that plugs into the USB port.  Will I be able to use this setup for installing Windows on my newly built PC?

Thank you Gary.  The hardware part was simple.  Just nervous about first time installing the OS.  Very much appreciate your help.  Will now go ahead and purchase Windows 11.  From what I have read, it looks like it is just a matter of time before Windows 10 is phased out anyway.
