Question 1

I bought this unit which is working fine. There is one thing that I did not understand is a little device glued inside the box behind the black paper wall, When I slide open the box, that device play some kind of music. I was wondering if this is something meant to be used inside the Unit or just has no purpose?

Haha. The purpose of the device is to delight you with Intel's corporate jingle when you open the packaging. Nothing more. You can discard it along with the box, or keep it so you can play the sound and annoy those around you.

Question 2

I'm thinking about a NUC for basic PC functions (web browsing, email, etc) that display on my 65".  What else do I need beside a NUC and a keyboard?

the NUC is a bare-bones system, you will need to provide RAM and a hard-drive to get anything installed on this PC. That being said, you will also need a power cable (mickey mouse, 3 pin) and probably an HDMI cable to connect it to your television. Do I need the 32 bit, or 64 bit version of Ubuntu for this device?

Either one will work. I have 64 bit windows 8. Any 64bit CPU will accept 32 bit as well.

This model says it has 
1 x full length mini-PCIe slot supporting mSATA capability
1 x half length mini-PCIe slot with dual USB 2.0 ports routed
Can both of these slots take a Mini-PCIe wifi card or only one ?

If both do take WIfi, Is there other SATA connections for storage

The full length mini-PCIe slot is used for your mSATA hard drive and the half length mini-PCIe slot can be used for any mini-PCIe card. Such as your wireless network card. I have this same one set up as a media center using Windows 7 and kodi (Xbox media center). I have a 64G mSATA drive and a mini-PCIE wireless AC  card hooked up to my server. I can stream  1080i or 720p flawlessly no buffering.

Question 6

Can I use this as a "legacy" computer and install Windows XP Pro 32 bit OS? I have SureTrak 3.0c scheduling software that only runs on 32 bit OS, but is better than the new scheduling software.
Please let me know.

I wouldn't recommend Windows XP, you'll lose all security. If you need to use XP, install Linux (it's free!) as your host OS and use VirtualBox (it's free) to install 32-bit Windows XP. You can then disconnect your XP virtual machine from the internet and use it for SureTrak, then have a secure OS for what you do on the internet. Or if you don't want Linux then get a new Windows OS. I installed Xubuntu 14.04 without a problem. That's how I'd do it, looking from a security perspective. If this is for scheduling employees, why leave this potentially confidential information on an easy target? It's easy to break Windows XP.

WILL IT RUN WINDOWS 7 PRO 64?

It sure will mine is currently running Win 7 Ultimate 64Bit. I have a dual boot setup for Win7 64bit and Linux 64bit. both run great, for streaming movies or watching downloaded movies. No gaming or heavy software of coarse but works great for every other need like web browsing and writing documents. Get it and love it. Needs ram and a MSATA SDD also has no disk drive.

How would I go about installing a Linux operating system into this box?

I installed FreeBSD via USB thumb drive.  Ubuntu can be installed the same way, just follow the instructions (Newegg doesn't allow links here; search for 'ubuntu usbstick install').

The same basic approach can be used for other distributions.

Does this NUC come with wifi antennas already installed? I know that I would need to get the wifi card, my question is if the antennas are already installed to plug into the card.

yes there is an antenna and hookup for a laptop wifi card right above the msata for the HD(similar connection). I was able to pull a card off an old hp laptop, works great(just right down all the info before you install it so you can get the right drivers!)

But Celeron 847 does not have that graphics. It has the lower-end HD graphics. Is the description incorrect?
