The cable provided is USB 3.0, but can also be used with USB 2.0 ports if you lack 3.0 ports. Most ports nowadays are 2.0 or 3.0 unless the machine is ancient (pre year 2000).

What is the rotation speed of this drive?

If I were to hazard a guess, it's probably a 5400 RPM drive in the enclosure. A lot of folks who sell these usually leave this off of an external drive's stats because there are other things that interfere with the data transfer rate, such as:
- Plugging into a USB port that isn't a 3.0
- Damage to the cable
- Other processes running on the computer when you make a call for data from the external
- Wake up time. Whenever I haven't used anything on this drive in a while, the OS puts the drive to sleep and it needs a few seconds to be accessible again.

That being said, mine has always been a great place to archive data and back up my OS and files on gloomy Saturday nights. I wouldn't expect one of these to be a fast primary drive, even if there's something faster under the hood.
