Why is this on special for $399.00 down from $999.00 when it sells on amazon for $199? and CNET says MSRP is $45? What am I missing here?

The piece the hooks onto the top slides out and can be flipped over to make it for the opposite ear.

No. It hooks onto the top of the ear and rest over the ear. Very comfortable! I have been using this brand and style for over 10 years now.
