Pros: Fantastic board like all MSI products, Board booted and detected all hardware first boot, without any tweaks. Detected Phenom II x4 810 @ 2.6ghz first boot, simple flip of the easy OC switch over clocked the CPU to 2.8GHz, and ran stable. Also installed G.SKILL 4GB DDR3 @ 1333 mhz, board detected ram at advertised ratings without any tweaks. Upgraded board with new components on existing Windows Vista Enterprise installation without having to reinstall. Board is able to hybrid cross-fire using only 1 PCI-express card and the onboard HD video. Bios has a ton of OC options.

Cons: Dual slot PCI-e cards will cover one of the PCI-e x1 slots. It's not black and blue like the MSI 790FX-GD70 =]

Overall Review: The pretty blue LED's above the RAM channels are nice.

Pros: This one worked!!! WOOT!(see cons) Well this one worked right out of the box. recognized my AMD 945 right away and also set my ram to the right speeds/volts without any adjustments. Onboard sound card is a nice touch. Not really sure about the vid though since I got a combo with a 4890. Seems to be a great board while its working. Newegg RMA is great, great turnaround and all.(although I hate paying for return shipping, its still better than sending it to the product company cause it would take at least twice as long that way)

Cons: First one was DOA I am only subtracting one egg since this one is grand. I usually wouldn't since this one worked out great but it seems that of the last 15 or so reviews, at least half have had the same problem as me. So I am glad that the factory workers that were playing kick box with our products are finally done and now I have a working MoBo.

Overall Review: Well its been running for about 24-30hrs on and off so I think I have a pretty stable one. Also I have thrown a few of the stress tests at my CPU/GPU/RAM and ran Prime95 on torture for about 6.5 hours till I wanted to use the comp again. All in all, pretty good MoBo with AM3 and DDR3. I especially like the colors, it definitely contrasts my case ;)

Pros: Has a lot of options in BIOS

Cons: The board died for me after 3 months of use. I was using my computer and all of a sudden it powered down. It refused to start up and diagnostic LED1 on the board wasn't lit. Apparently I'm not the only person with this problem as well as there are multiple forum posts of people with LED1 problems with the exact same symptoms as me. I'm hoping the RMA process for this board is quick, if it is then this board is probably worth 4 stars as it worked fine. If not I don't think I'll ever buy a MSI product ever again.

Pros: Great MB, especially for the price. $129.00 Detected my Samsung 640 HD, LG DVD, CPU, Memory on initial boot. Installed Windows 7 that I downloaded in Jan. with no problems at all. MSI Tech Assist is great.

Cons: None if you know how to read the manual...:) Oops.

Overall Review: This is an update on my previous review (that I still don't see..). I put in a tech assist request with MSI this morning concerning my lack of ability to adjust memory/cpu voltages via bios. They responded within 15 minutes with solution, which was basically "read the directions". Oops, my bad. The book cleary mentions that you scroll to the setting you wish to adjust, hit page up/down, and +/- to adjust. I was able to easily get my MB/CPU (AMD Phenom II 720) to run at 3.4 GHz within minutes. The memory is only at 1066 right now but I have not had a chance to adjust bios with it yet. The memory is OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800).

Pros: Lots of options, AM3 socket, on board video is decent, plenty of room for expansion. If your looking to put together average gaming rig this is a good board.

Cons: Location of ram slots is very close to CPU socket.

Overall Review: Had to Rma my first board because it died after about 30 seconds after bios posted. Got the new board this weekend put in CPU and Ram. Board posted with no trouble. Overclocked AMD 720 BE 2.8 up to 3.5 with stock cooler, 4gig of G-skill DDR3 ram and 500 watt PSU. Using on board video until I can afford a new video card.

Pros: Quick and easy install; posted right out of the box with the Phenom II X3 720 and 4GB of G.Skill DDR3, and has been running strong for ~two weeks now. Great features on board, with extensive OC options in the bios and a few nice software OC options for on-the-fly changes in windows. Sideport mem is nice if you're using the on-board video (which I've been using until I can afford a nicer card.) It's not a HD 4870 but it'll do the job for the time being. Amazing speeds, smokin' FSB--I can definitely feel the difference between our DDR2, AM2 system and this new AM3. Feels like a solid board for the price.

Cons: I would like to be able to run a single SATA drive and also use the RAID on a set of separate drives, but I haven't figured out if that's possible yet. No "real" complaints so far!

Overall Review: I run a lot of Audio editing software (Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, etc.), this board and processor are amazing for live VST plugins and mixing.

Pros: Well, this board is almost future-proof. For a few years at least. The fact that it's 140W CPU ready means I should be able to handle the next couple of generations of AM3's. Plus since I just got my DDR3 1600 RAM, I won't have to buy a new mobo for quite some time. Nice to know this board will be expandable for at least a few years without becoming too outdated. Oh, and it's crossfire ready. 790GX chipset. 1GB DDR3 1333 internal memory and a pretty darn good Radeon 3300 onboard VGA setup as well. For someone who needs a good mobo with great built-in video solution for a nice budget HTPC setup, I would imagine this is the best way to go to get the best bang for your buck. Did I mention it looks cool? It stays really cool with the heat pipe that connects to the NB heatsink. It's chillin at 29'C stable at idle.

Cons: Well, I did not have a CLUE that most of the AM3 CPU's are designed for DDR3 1333 RAM. This mobo supports DD3 1600 .. however that's only if you have a Phenom II 955 and above. In the future there will be more 1600MHz ready chips however the one I'm running - Phenom II x3 720 - is actually designed to run at 1333MHz. I got around this issue though. All I had to do is bump the voltage up on my Mushkin DDR3 1600 RAM from 1.7 to 1.86 and it's running quite well at 1600MHz. I did have to knock one egg off because it was a little confusing trying to get the memory setup how I wanted it due to the complicated BIOS. It's nice having a very functional and detailed BIOS but I would've liked it if it were a bit more user-friendly. Anywho ...

Overall Review: Now that I'm running my memory at 1600MHz and have my CPU in a true AM3 socket I can tell a nice difference in speed already .. simply by using Windows Media Center and playing Call of Duty World at War. Both ran fine on my old system however it's obviously faster. Will have to try out Crysis on here sometime today. It should get a big boost in FPS as well. I gained a nice bump in my 3dMark06 score, btw. Oh, also this mobo is very well designed as far as cable and plug positioning goes. I was able to keep all my cords out of the way because of the well thought out design of this mobo. You can barely see any cables through my side panel window .. which is sweet because it looks pretty beastly now that you've got a clear ilne of sight to my VGA card, CPU cooler and my blue LEDs and UV's .. haha! Finally .. for the budget gamer out there - consider using only the onboard 3300 card if you get this mobo. It will play most games at good res's thanks to the 1gb of DDR3 RAM. Nice solution IMO.

Pros: The on-board graphics works well for my music production machine and supports dual displays. (I am using the VGA and DVI ports, but assume you can use any combination of the three) I find everything else about the board pretty typical, solid construction, decent layout etc.

Cons: One TINY thing basically not worth mentioning - my on-board reset button doesn't work; it seems the center part of the plastic button that contacts the switch is jammed or something. Not worth removing the board from the case to inspect.

Overall Review: I have paired this motherboard with the Phenom II 955. *for those interested in audio production/recording capability of this board/processor combination* I use the EMU 1616m PCI audio interface with FL Studio and with ASIO latency running at 3ms. (lowest available with the 1616m is 2ms) Mainly recording audio from bass guitar and drums as well as MIDI data from the drum and keyboard controllers. Overall I find this board to be a relatively low cost base to a very capable and upgradable system.
