Can I get audio out of the DVI connector with an HDMI adapter?

I have a GTX 260 which routes SP/DIF audio from the mobo to the DVI output. I can get that audio from a DVI to HDMI adapter. The question is, does this mobo route SP/DIF audio to the DVI connector?

This does not seem to have wi-fi.  Whats a good addition for wifi?  I am trying not to use up the 6 USB slots but will if i have to i guess

Good choice for your motherboard. Hasn't given me any trouble since I bought it. As for the WiFi; no the board does not come standard with Wifi built in. For my computer I got the Rosewill RNX-G300LX Wireless Adapter Card. It is a PCI card (I think the board has 2 PCI slots). The adapter plays well with the MSI board and works great! The item is $12.99 on Newegg.

Has anyone ran Windows 8 on this motherboard? "MSI's mainboards officially certified for Windows 8" lists this model under its compatibility list, but Newegg only shows "Compatible with Windows 7" in its overview for this motherboard.

No offense, but it took me literally 5 seconds to google that! MSI has only one driver for the on-board sound card for Windows 8 (32 and 64 bit) on their website, so the mainboard is fully compatible with Windows 8 and Windows should install all drivers automatically. Win 8 Drivers are also on the mainboard's DVD.
The latest BIOS is 1.4 and is from 2012, so your Board should have it already.
Also download the latest drivers for your chipset from AMD and not from MSI, because AMD updates their drivers more frequently.

well first off, any of the a-series chips will have a decent graphics card built in, that being said you could pick up something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150567 and that would only be if you intended to crossfire with the on chip gpu. honestly i'd say run a bit with the built in gpu and if you are still intent on crossfire, pick up a 6670 equipped model, they have much faster memory, and are the top end of what can be paired in crossfire. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150567 I have 2 a8-3870k equipped systems, one has a msi 6670, the other has a beefier 6850, both seem to handle what ever is tossed their way.

i don't have this board i bought it as a replacement for my friends dead computer. however try looking at MSI web sight for xp drivers. also look in bios for an option to use the hard disk in IDE mode if xp install disk does not see a drive (xp installer does not have sata support)

Can I install a gaming video card on this motherboard?

Yes, it has 1 PCIe x16 v2.0 for any video card that is a PCIe x16 V2.0 or "V2.1 will work too" but make sure if you get a video card that needs extra power like PCIe 6 or 8 pin power plugin that your power supply has what you need to power that video card. Also, if you have a AMD APU there is something about dual graphics setup if you use another AMD video card it will boost your FPS just something to check into too I'm not 100% sure on what video cards work with that. it's FM1 socket. So an AMD CPU with APU of A4, A6, A8, or E2 will be compatible.

I am fairly sure that you can.  I am using RAID 0 right now, but I saw an option for RAID 1 when I was setting up the RAID 0.
