What pin connector for the power supply is needed for this card?

No PCIe power connected is needed. Someone mentioned you need a 320Watt power supply or higher. I routinely install cards of this generation in SFF computers with 240Watt power supplies. Have not had one issue in the years I have been doing this.

I want to upgrade the onboard video my Dell OptiPlex 780 SFF to something that can run the Dolphin Emulator (OpenGL, DirecxtX).  The specs say this will run on a 300W PS and pulls only 19Watts.  The OptiPlex has a 230W power supply.  Do you think this would work?

I would say yes it would work on 230watts. just be sure that your computer has an open PCI-E slot. The manufacturer probably lists 300watts because there are not many newer computers with less than 300 watt power supplies. I figure they use that as a baseline. This video card from what I have seen uses very little power. normal temperature runs 90 degrees to 108 degrees. when I play my games its about 130 max . my old video card was a standard 500 watt recommended card and it would run 120 degrees to 165 degrees all the time. that is why I bought this card , was for the low power needed. So I would think it would run just fine with a 230 watt power supply.

19 watts steady state... a little more peak to peak. This is not a gamer's card. Unless you have many other attachments or current drawing peripherals... you should be fine.

Any problems using this on a Linux (Ubuntu) build?

No problem.  Nvidia drivers work just fine with Mint which is basically the same.  I've been using this on an ASUS Z-170 with an i5.  There was better support for this video card than the built in Intel video.

This video card is actually has a PCIe X16 interface, meaning it can be plugged into a X16 slot physically. The Gigabyte m61sme-32 motherboard has a X16 slot, though it only support to X8. Please refer to manufacture's website for the information.

This video card should work with the Gigabyte m61sme-32 motherboard, though it may not show its best performance with X8 support.

Yes, you will get sound. My sound works just fine through HDMI. As another poster stated you'll need to go into control panel and play around with your sound settings (basically select HDMI as your sound output device) to enable it. It can be a pain to figure out, but you'll eventually get the right settings.

Accepted Answer

The HDMI connector is maximum resolution 4096 x 2160 at 24 hertz.  The DVI connector is maximum resolution 2560 at 60 hertz.  So yes, it can do 4k, but only thru the HDMI connector, and then only at 24 hertz.

Will this card play 4K video?

No!  However, this could achieve the ratio of 4k, but not the frame rate of 4k

When a card supports 4k it will say it.\
The resolution of this card is 4096 x 2160... 2160 is higher than 1080, so technically this is 4k.  But to achieve this the card must drop from 60hz to 24hz, so this card is unable to refresh for 4k which should be at 60hz video or VR support which needs a FPS of 90fps.

Being digital it's one of those it either works or it doesn't things.  Some may say different but I always go with the cheapest.
