Power House 11/14/2009 1:10:07 PM

Pros: Runs cool, quiet fan and runs stable. This card comes stock overclocked at low settings. The great thing is that you can over clock this and it can take it. I set the core clock to 700, memory clock to 1200 and it hardly increased the max load temp. But it did give me a 1,000 more 3dmark vantage points, so great GPU and MSI makes the best heatsinks/fan mods out there.

Cons: The bad is the MSI software. It is incosistant, not accurate and does not detect 80% of what it is supposed to. When I installed the hardware monitoring software all it picked up and monitored was the GPU temp. The memory clock, core clock, shader clock, and fan speed were all undetected. So I got EVGA Precision software and it detects all and has many more features than MSI. Also EVGA Precision is amazing to configure, overclock and monitor your card. Higly recommend it.

Overall Review: This card is not any longer that the other good gaming card. I replaced my MSI Nvidia 9600GT and the 260GTX was a half an inch longer. So if you have a small case and have cables/drives across from your PCI-E slot you may need to make room and manage your cables better. The Nvidia 275GTX is not worth the extra money this card (V4) is faster!

Faster than a 4870 and better Linux support 11/9/2009 2:44:46 PM

Pros: Performs as well or better than the ATI 4870 it replaced. The benchmarks at TomsHardware seam accurate. The NVIDIA Linux drivers are much more reliable than the ATI drivers which was my primary motivation in switching back to NVIDIA. I can play Left4Dead and Crysis at maximum settings on a 1680x1050 LCD.

Cons: The card is very large. I have a 3U server case. Length isn't a problem but the aux power connectors are on the top of the card instead of the end, so there is absolutely no room to plug in the power cables and close my case. I will have to solder new connectors onto the card.

Overall Review: AMD Phenom 9950, 8GB RAM, ASUS M3A32-MVP AMD 790FX Motherboard

awesome card 10/27/2009 2:45:29 PM

Pros: Fit in my case just fine. Only had to move the HD to another slot. Plays all my games without a hitch. No problems with drivers running under vista.

Cons: Only that I could not get two for the price of one.

Nice looking ram 10/21/2009 11:50:30 AM

Pros: Like the looks, and that it came with heat spreaders. Was cheaper then DDR2 for same clock speed.

Cons: Wish 4g chips was not so expencive. (my mother board only has 2 slots)

Works Great 10/21/2009 11:46:27 AM

Pros: Playes all my games like Fallout 3 and Call of Duty World at War. Price was just in my budget.

Cons: Very big card, just fit with no room to spare. (expected for a Micro ATX case)

Overall Review: Running a Q9550 at 3.05GHz, and 4G DDR3.

I like it 10/19/2009 10:47:08 AM

Pros: I like the cost, performance ratio. I took the "over clock" up a notch with EVGA precision tool to 700 core, 1512 shader clock (linked), and memory to 2300mhz. On COD5, supplied o/c was 49-92 fps, with the over- overclock fps is a stable 89-92 fps with a small increase in heat @ 79c when its hot out, 55-60c when its not(no a/c & i live in a warmer climent area). Nvidia's spec. for this card's max. temp 105c so i'm not worried, besides, cpu temp. stays right @ 53c.

Cons: For some reason Nvidia's latest drivers for Windows Vista/Win 7 (186.18 & 190.38) force me to use the display adapter to tone down the "too intense" colors. Rolled the drivers to version 178.24 and everything looks and works great! Maybe its a Vista 64bit thing, because its an upgrade instead of a clean full install. Can't dock an egg fot that.

Overall Review: One heck of an upgrade from the 9600GT (great little card though). Fit just fine in my mid-tower case, and something of a pleasant suprise is that with 8 gigs of system memory, it shares memory to the video adapter; card memory 896mbs+2046mbs shared=2942 total availible graphics memory. Also using a 500w Antec psu and total draw is right around 246w and no strain what-so-ever. Thanks MSI. I was leary because of other reviews but went for it anyway. Glad I did. Thanks NewEgg for prompt processing & delivery!

Great GTX260 for Less 10/14/2009 12:13:03 PM

Pros: -Large Factory OverClock (655Mhz).
-Smaller Cooling Fan solution than older OCv2 version (which I also have).
-Single GPU performance @ 1920x1080 is rock solid coupled with my Q6600 @ 3.2Ghz.
-Painless SLI setup with my OCv2 & OCv4 versions of this card.
-Runs cooler, and pushes more air out of itself than the older OCv2 version of this card that I also bought months ago.

Cons: -With ATI releasing their 5800 series cards, this card is now considered "aged" if you will.

-MSI's utilities don't function. (Always use nVidia's latest driver too)

Overall Review: I ordered this card to setup SLI with my older OCv2 version of this card. Performance is great. I'm glad that the OCv4 has a smaller cooling solution, and therefore fits into my case a little easier (clip secures card instead of screw). Works flawlessly with my OCv2. GPU-Z shows them to be identical other than the BIOS version. Minor physical differences on the PCB itself, so obviously they made some changes.

If you want pretty, spend more on another brand of GPU. If you don't care what the card looks like, MSI performs just as well and costs less (plus has a nice OC on them). Never had a problem with any MSI GPU I've ever purchased.

I have determined though that my Q6600 @ 3.2Ghz is a limiting factor on my GTX 260 SLI setup.

Games I use with:
Far Cry 2 (1920x1080 @ all Ultra High Avg 48FPS SLI)
Age of Conan (won't do SLI)
Fallout 3
The Sims 3
