MSI GTX 770 2GB/OC
MSI has had a dynamic shift in the packaging it now uses with its Gaming series hardware. Instead of the whites and blues of days past you get a red and black graphic with the Gaming series badge to the right and a tribal dragon graphic on the left. At the bottom left is an indicator that this is a factory overclocked version of the MSI GTX 770 and it is equipped with MSI's own Twin Frozr cooling solution. On the back side of the package MSI illustrates the main feature set as it applies to the gamer and how best to use the GTX 770 with its supplied utilities such as the Gaming App and Predator (a part of MSI's Afterburner utility). Also discussed are the benefits of the Twin Frozr cooling solution that to be honest are not far off the mark. MSI's Military Class 4 construction is used with components that meet or exceed the MIL-STD-810G rating. Parts such as Hi-C Caps, Super Ferrite chokes, and aluminum solid capacitors all team together to improve stability, efficiency, and longevity.

ADVANCED TWIN FROZR IV

MSI's Twin Frozr has been the industry defining graphics card cooler. The first Twin Frozr kicked of the dual-fan trend and today MSI stays true to its dual-fan dual-slot design where others have to resort to less effective means.
The other part that the Twin Frozr cooler uses is a large Aluminium fin grid array that provides a huge amount of surface area for cooling. Heat from the GPU is transferred to the fin grid array by virtue of heat pipes with MSI's special SuperPipe technology. SuperPipes transfer heat twice as fast as regular heat pipes enabling an MSI GAMING graphics card to stay cooler than the competition.
Futhermore, MSI provide all new Airflow Control technology on Twin Frozr. This new thermal tech. is leading airflow to heat pipe by spcial defletor on heatsink, so it can deflect more airflow to heat pipes directly. In addtion,This exclusive heatsink design is increasing the area of heatsink so that enhacing the efficiency of dissipation much more.
DETAILS
One of the deciding factors in performance is the quality of the components used. That is why MSI only uses MIL-STD-810G certified components for its Gaming cards because only these components have proven to be able to withstand the torturous circumstances of extreme gaming and overclocking.
New Super Ferrite Chokes use a Ferrite core that is Super-Permeable. This allows the Super Ferrite Chokes to run around 100°F (35°C) lower temperatures, have a 30% higher current capacity, a 20% improvement in power efficiency and better overclocking power stability.
Hi-C Caps
A Hi-c CAP is a very small, but super-efficient capacitor. Besides ensuring enough spacing around a CPU socket to install large coolers, it also allows for 93% energy efficiency. Thanks to Hi-c CAP's MSI mainboards are the most energy efficient in the market.
Solid Cap
One With their aluminum core design, Solid CAP's have been a staple in high-end mainboard designs and provides lower Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) as well as its over-10-year lifespan.
AFTERBURNER
MSI Afterburner has quickly become the favorite overclocking software for media, overclockers and end-users. Because of its simple interface, it's easy to learn, but it packs a lot of powerful features like an integrated benchmark utility called Kombustor that can check your system performance in benchmarking mode, or run as a stability test.
Don't speak English? No problem: MSI Afterburner is translated in many languages including Russian, Spanish, Chinese and Korean! Not satisfied with the looks? Just change to one of the many different skins or create one yourself with ease!
Now this utility is also available on portable platform. Download the MSI Afterburner App from Google Play or the Apple store and start overclocking wit on your smartphone or tablet.

Eggxpert Review
Pros: The card performs great on 1080p. I’m able to get “ultra” settings on BF4 at that resolution. It also comes with two fans, except… see cons.
Cons: I hate the “gaming app”. I have to click an OC button on their “gaming app” to get the advertised OC speeds. What? Why? So they want me to double click to load the gaming app ..short wait.. click the OC button, minimize, and then play a game. Why not OC all the time just like the other card manufacturers do? Nvidia boost prevents it from running at peek OC speeds all of the time and scales up to max when needed. What’s the big deal? The first version of the gaming app would actually blank the screen for a few seconds while it overclocked. They’ve since fixed that though. Not sure why they thought it was acceptable to release it that way to begin with, but that made me question their interest in quality. Now that it doesn't blank my screen, I put the app in my “startup” folder so when I reboot, the app will eventually load, I click the OC button and minimize the app. They advertise the “gaming app” as a benefit; it is not. When the first version of the gaming app would blank my screen, I contacted support about it. They clearly didn’t read my email because their reply was “download the gaming app at [url]”. It was the same version that I already had, but I downloaded it again anyway. No change. When I expressed my disappointment in their lack of support by blowing me off, they took the time to reply with an answer to my question. Which was basically, that’s the way it works. To my surprise they have figured out a few months later that it doesn’t have to work that way. The latest version does not blank my screen. The specs state it supports up to 2560x1600, but don’t expect much from it above 1080p even when using the DisplayPort. I got a 1440p monitor shortly after purchasing this card and I use the DisplayPort for best performance. My BF4 settings had to be reduced from ultra. Some settings had to drop as far as “low” and anti-aliasing had to be disabled. At these settings, I occasionally see some very low detail “artifacts” while playing the game so it can maintain a reasonable FPS rate. Here is the final straw for my dislike of this product and, ultimately, MSI. One of the fans (maybe both) rattles when it reaches about 68% (just before 2,000 rpms). I bought this NEW from Newegg in October for $400 and now it’s going to cost me extra (about $15) to ship it to MSI to get it fixed. I don’t understand this all too common policy of making the customer pay shipping to fix a product that was bought new and should be working as advertised. Why should I pay $415+ for it when I agreed to $400? If they can’t back their products completely, why should I have confidence in them? Unfortunately this is not just an MSI policy, but since this is their policy, I’m going to make sure they don’t waste my money in the future by avoiding their products.
Overall Review: I truly regret buying this card. This is my second review. In my first review, I was more forgiving for having to click the OC button on the gaming app, but it really has become a pain to have to do that. Maybe other 770’s are just as weak on a 1440p, but I did expect more from it. I cannot manually overclock this card very high and what overclocking I can do causes the card to get hot more quickly resulting in… you guessed it.. a lot of noise due to the rattling fan problem. This card is not worth more money to get the fan fixed. It’s past the Newegg return policy time frame, so I’m trying to figure out how to sell it to someone that is ok with a rattling fan at high speeds and recoup whatever I can of the waste of money. If I can do that then I can go back to EVGA sooner rather than later. This is my first and last MSI product: bad software, bad quality, bad support, and bad RMA policy.
