most of the bad reviews say that it doesn't last long, is this true?

I have had this card for a month now without issue.  The included support bracket is junk and will not support the card/. I opted for a crafting dowel cut to the proper length and put a small piece of double sided tape on each end to elevate the card. if this card sags, fan number 3 will clatter and squalk as it makes contact with the frame. it runs cod 3 at 153fps and unless your game is frame locked this card will crank and is clocked higher than the same card in super.

Is this NVLink capable?

The socket is on the card and it will link to another exact card, however it doesn't not have the same benefits as the enterprise NVlink capable cards. The  are a few YouTube videos that explain the newer NVlink on the RTX generation.

RTX 2080 only getting  60 HZ ?

Gossip surrounding an NVIDIA RTX, real-time ray-tracing, Battlefield V, tech demo at Gamescom 2018 soon erupted into controversy over whether or not the 2080 Ti was being slowed down by so-called "complicated" ray-tracing technology.  The demo was shown running at 4K/HDR/60 FPS.  Up until recently, 4K monitors were limited to showing only up to 60 FPS because of their inherent 60 Hz hardware limit.  Watching a solid 60 FPS on a 4K display is perfectly fine, especially if the video card is powerful enough to prevent the displayed FPS falling below 60 FPS, which is what makes it solid (or locked) at 60 Hz.  The Turing GPU includes tensor cores, as well as CUDA cores, in a large chip that is capable of solid 2K/4K performance at 60 Hz and beyond, and that includes real-time ray-tracing and HDR. What's the difference between this and the Duke version?

The only difference I see is literally a piece of plastic added on the fans. They even say so on thier website. So the $50 premium is not much of a premium. It does have more lights but that honestly doesn't justify the price either.

Can you use NVIDIA Ansel with this card?

Yes but at this point you'd be better off getting the SUPER version of these cards. Better performance for similar price points.

Will this video card work in the Asus Rampage III Extreme motherboard?

Yes, but you will be several limited in your actually performance due to the CPU/PCIe lanes/PCIe bandwidth reduction (as estimates are done with PCIe.

TLDR: Yes, but it will not perform as well as expected.

Question 7

Will the MSI GeForce RTX 2080 GAMING X TRIO Video Card fit inside a Cooler Master HAF 912 case?  I know I'd have to remove a drive cage, but if I did that, would it still fit?  This card is 327mm or 12.87" inches in length.

These cards from MSI are huge and keep in mind they fill a double pci slot so you have to factor in both the lenght and the width.

Can it CHANGE GAMING FOREVER?

It's possible, but as with anything of value it won't happen overnight. In some ways this reminds me of the big hype surrounding Tesselation when the GTX 400 series cards came out. They touted the tesselation performance and all the benefits it would bring to gaming.
As it turned out tesselation didn't become the next big thing and while a handful of titles used it during the GTX 400 lifespan none of them were particularly memorable, at least to me.
Eventually Tesselation found its way into more and more games, but by the time this happened optimum playing of those games required a newer GPU than the 400 series. So, hopefully this same story won't be repeated again with RayTracing. One thing I am pretty sure of is that raytracing will have a bigger imact than tesselation has. The question is by how much and also how long will it take?

Do you think rust would run great on this card?

Rust in multiplayer mode may be more demanding on your GPU; however, the minimum system requirements for Rust are pretty light-weight.  The more robust "recommended" system requirements are either a GTX 980 or an AMD R9 Fury GPU; Devil's canyon (4th gen Intel) CPU (i7-4790K), or an AMD Ryzen 5 1600; 16 GB of system memory; and, Windows 10 64-bit OS.  If you are going to purchase the RTX 2080 GPU for gaming, make sure that the purchasing decision is justified by the other parts in your build such as, at least, a 7th or 8th gen CPU (like the i7-7700K, or the Ryzen 7 1700X).  In short, the answer to your question is: Rust would run great on this card with a 34" ultra-wide, 144 Hz display at 1440p resolution.

Does this have a virtual link port?

If what you're referring to is: a port that accommodates a connection (via a single cord) to a Virtual Reality headset, then the answer is yes!  Depending on which VR headset you're using, you connect a properly-equipped VR headset to the Gaming X Trio's USB Type-C port.
