MSI K9N2 Diamond AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 780a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: for the most part very solid board. have had it for 8 months. has no overheating with IRQ's for controler cards. loved that. worked out of the box. sound audio is a plus for Receivers. i use a Denon 2808 CI. http://www.usa.denon.com/ProductDetails/4484.asp i dont like the sound of computer speakers. over clock. is a breez. run 3.0 Ghz on a 9850 Phenom. dose not over heat to bad. i have a case with very good airflow.

Cons: have three of these and only one has messed up. sending it in for repairs. bios will not go past loading. its only on one board. comeing from years of computers. i have done every thing i can. remember if you want (three way SLI) you have run Windows Vista. XP or older will not work.

Pros: Even with the old 2.0 BIOS that was installed when I got the board, it still ran the new Phenom II 920 right out of the box. It didn't know it was, it just said "unknown AMD processor". No problem with it after the 2.2 BIOS update. Comes with plenty of cables for most setups. The LEDs for boot status are VERY bright, they really light up the case. The board itself is totally silent since it has no fans which was a plus for me.

Cons: The BIOS update from 2.0 to 2.2 was a pain without a floppy drive, but I did manage to get it done and now the board is great. Windows Vista doesn't recognize the Sound Blaster card properly (it sees it as generic), but it does function fine.

Overall Review: I need to try moving the sound card to a different slot to see if that makes any difference.

Pros: Accepted and recognized all my hardware without a hitch. Fits my two 9800GTX's. Came with a great sound card. LEDs on the board light up my case. Comes with pin headers making power switch installation a breeze. Easy to update the BIOS from the MSI website. Comes with a boatload of cables and headers. All in all, and excellent MOBO. It even runs the new Phenom II's even though it doesn't know what they're called right out of the box, it just says "unknown AMD processor"

Cons: Uneven spacing on the PCI-E slots makes installation a bit awkward, but with a bit of fidgeting it's fine. You can fit the sound card in there even with two massive GPU's, just make sure you put the sound card in first.

Pros: Great board.Layout is nice and NO problems after 2 months of ownership.Beats the heck out of Asus and their sorry tech support.Sound card is not as bad as some have posted.

Pros: Sexy. All that copper looks cool. Little LEDs all over it make every day Christmas. Worked right out of the box, no snags.

Cons: The fins at the back were hitting the fan, but just bent them away a tad. The documentation was written by a team of Chinese geniuses, one of whom thinks he can write in English. He's wrong. The software is worthless; it doesn't work. Why can't the hardware guys get it through their heads that programming is a different skill? No onboard audio makes you use up the PCIe x1 slot with the supplied SB card.

Overall Review: In spite of the software failure, the board is doing just fine so far with the supplied BIOS. I haven't gotten to try the NVIDIA RAID of the other one yet, so look for a possible revised review. Installation tip: you might want to puch out the holes in the IO shield where the audio jacks ought to be to let air get at the pipes BEFORE you mount the board in the case.

Pros: The board is extremely fast, and works great. Except for sli. problem which is a semi easy fix

Cons: As in other posts Normal Sli will cause issues, like no display while booting. Download the newest version of bios and flash and it will work.

Pros: Still works, no problems, Finally figured out how dual channel goes on this board.

Overall Review: I've read about this board and people are saying if you have two memory sticks put them in different color slots to ensure dual channel mode. You actualy want them in the same color slots. I guess the confusion comes from other brand mobo's that use different color slots. The paper work doesn't really explain that good.

Pros: I bought This MOBO in Jan 2009 with a Be 2400 processor to check it out and run until I completed my build, But Didn't get it Online until a month later when I ordered a Corsair 850 watt PS and 4 gb of Corsair Memory. I am on Social Security and This has Taken until May until I am ready to Order my Phenom II 940. This Board has never even hiccupped. Solid as a rock fast and Dependable. It is ESA Ready and I have it configured as such. My Understanding is that I'm in for a pleasant surprise when I install The Phenom II 940 processor, from all the reviews. I have Flashed The Bios Twice When Upgrades were announced by MSI with no problems.

Cons: None, My First Build since 1998 and it has worked out perfect except taking some hits on price cuts. I paid $239 for this and now its $194.99. My Case Dropped $40 since I bought it. I'm tempted to build another identical computer to take advantage of the price cuts.

Overall Review: I'm hearing This MOBO can Be Upgraded to an AM3 Processor and DDR3 memory. I would like to see some official word on this.
